一、加拿大留学商科专业申请条件

position. Though more and more companies built， management of companies cannot

catch up with the development of the companies. Management is a burgeoning field

in China， so I hope I can acquire more modern knowledge on management in

England. The roots of my strong interest in business can be traced back to my

childhood. My father was among the first of China’s new breed of modern

entrepreneurs. As a young girl， it was inspirational hearing about his business

ventures， and meeting the varied and interesting circle of entrepreneurs. My

mother was also involved in business as an accountant， helping him with simple

calculations. And so it was early in my life that I hoped I， also， would someday

be able to enter the realm of business.

With the time of growing up， I preferred reading books to satisfy my

curiosity. I never ceased to contemplate over the questions I encountered.

Subjects on business and management became a special fascination to me and my

knowledge of psychology as well as interest in this field was increasing

rapidly.

As a high school student in China， I had to concentrate on the College

Entrance Examination (CEE)， even so， books not related to the exams were never

excluded from my life. Unfortunately when sitting in the exam in June， 2001， I

was so nervous that I didn’t score well in the CEE exam. I enrolled in the

department of Computer Science in Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese

should manage not only the finance in the shop but also the employees in my shop

even made some strategies to enlarge the business in my shop to hold on the run

the shop. From this， my interpersonal skills and the capacity in business has

been greatly developed， definitely I was increasingly interested in what I was

doing. By December， 2003， I had finally determined to take business management

as my career instead of IT. To accumulate more relevant knowledge， I strived to

I grew up in a small fishing village in Maine, surrounded by family.

Expectations and aspirations are limited in such an environment. I could have

made a living exploiting the sea, but chose to do similar work as a corporate

executive. Although I have no siblings, my hometown contains over fifty family

members, and our agenda of family activities is always packed. Most of my family

is employed in the commercial fishing industry, which instilled in me at a very

young age, the concept of work. At age eleven, I started babysitting and mowing

lawns, and at the age of fifteen I applied for my lobster license. The first

summer with my license, I took a job as a sternperson with a fellow female. We

were the only two females out there, which was definitely an experience. When

the lobstering season ended that year, I took a job at a grocery store bagging

groceries. I saved enough money to build a boat and to buy fifty lobster traps;

I was on my way. The following summer I continued to work as a sternperson, and

The roots of my strong interest in business can be traced back to my

For a long time now I have been interested in the subject of psychology.

The way people behave and why they do certain things has always fascinated me

and after thoroughly enjoying studying the subject at A level I would like to

continue to further my knowledge and study psychology at a higher level.

The A levels I currently study include maths statistics and Philosophy and

ethics. Maths statistics will be advantageous to me whilst studying degree level

psychology, especially when studying area's such as research methods. Studying

Philosophy and ethics also has its advantages in psychology, especially when

covering the ethical issues raised when conducting psychological experiments. I

recently attended a Maths masterclass at Newcastle University which has given me

an insight into what university life will be like, and has further reassured me

that attending university is the right decision for me.

I am part of the peer mentoring team at school. This is an anonymous

service where the pupils at school can email us with their problems and I get

great satisfaction from knowing that I have helped people. Working with a range

of different people and problems has helped me to gain insight into how people

work and I am eager to learn more about the easiest and most efficient ways of

dealing with these problems. It has helped to develop my communication skills,

through dealing with a range of different people. This experience has helped me

to decide that I would particularly like to study psychology with counselling,

as I feel that I would thoroughly enjoy the challenge and the satisfaction

gained from a career in this area.

I recently completed a week of work experience at the local playgroup where

I worked with children aged 2-4. This enabled me to witness firsthand some of

the issues covered in the day care section of the attachment module in AS

psychology, particularly the way in which children develop socially. I

thoroughly enjoyed working with these children and was delighted when the leader

of the playgroup asked me to return to do voluntary work during my free

mornings. I now currently assist the children with ICT skills one morning a

week. Additionally I am currently organising voluntary work at a local care home

for the elderly as I believe working with people from a range of age groups will

be beneficial.

My part time job at McDonalds where I work 18-25 hours a week has helped to

build my confidence and my communication skills as I am constantly in contact

with customers and colleagues. It has also helped me to develop my time

management skills as I have always kept up to date with my school work. It also

developed my ability to work quickly and efficiently when under pressure, and I

believe that I have the ability to successfully multi-task.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends. I regularly attend

music concerts and go to the cinema with them. I am a member at the local

leisure centre where I often go to the gym and occasionally go swimming to keep

myself fit.

I am looking forward to beginning the challenge of university life. It is

an exciting opportunity and I believe that studying a course in Psychology with

Counselling is the first step towards my chosen future career as a Counselling

Psychologist.

A Chinese graduate student of composite materials, I would like to pursue Ph. D. studies in a program in which I can do advanced inter-disciplinary research that is built upon my expertise in both chemical engineering and composite materials. I find that your program is one of the few where such research is possible.

I am due to complete my Master's studies next year at the Beijing Institute of Light Industry, a well-respected higher-learning institution that has served as a major cradle of engineering talents for light industries in this country. Majoring in structural mechanics of composites, I have focused my studies on honeycomb sandwich and its applications for civilian purposes. Although I did not take many of the traditional undergraduate courses in this field, my graduate studies have proceeded well. Building on my extensive working experience with all kinds of materials, I have completed a host of projects, as listed in the Appendix, that are not only technologically advanced but also commercially profitable. My research has been highly commended by the school.

To accomplish what I have accomplished, I have had to be more intelligent and overcome more difficulties than most of my classmates, for I did not get to receive a regular undergraduate education. Although I performed strongly in the 1988 National University Entrance Examinations and met the requirements for university acceptance, I did not craft a good enough strategy in applying to the universities. As a result, my application fell through cracks, leaving me only the opportunity to study in a two-year college program, not to be discouraged by this mishap, I studied with diligence and creativity, and succeeded in firmly grounding myself in the studies of material propensities and structures. When I completed that program, I was as capable as most graduates from the honors program in handling practical material problems from the angle of chemistry.

Upon graduation in 1990,I first took up the job of an assistant engineer in a biochemistry pharmaceutical manufacturer, where I was in charge of the development and analysis of several lines of products. I was given the responsibility for VD Calcium Tablet in the first two weeks, as I demonstrated that I was able to do independent research, particularly in terms of quantitative analysis and microbiology inspection, from five raw materials to semi-made and finished products. As my talents showed up, I took charge of the production and inspection of more and more products. Towards the end of 1991, I was awarded the honor of Excellent Employee in the factory of almost two thousand people in recognition of my contribution to its business.

Armed with the ability to quickly grasp the essence of new things, I made even more contribution to my second employer, a Joint-Venture Company of cosmetics. In this company, In the first two months after I was hired, I established, with reference to both the ISO and national standards,. The company's standards of packaging materials for 35 different products from corrugated box to paper lid, from glass bottle to plastic cover. During the first half year, I turned myself from just a user of cosmetics to quality engineer of cosmetic actively engaged in R. & D. Three new products (Elysee Vitamin E Cream, Elysee Tonique and Elysee Lipbalm) I helped to develop were recognized as Provincial Scientific Achievements, for which I was conferred three certificates of Honor. I believe that when one embarks on a new career, he should be quick in accepting changes even though he must still stick to his old principles.

In these six years of working experience, I greatly improved myself in terms of technological expertise. I made chemical and microbiological examinations of different drugs skillfully and independently, successfully developed several new types of cosmetics, some of which merited the designation of Provincial Scientific Achievements. But more importantly, I learned to ask more sophisticated questions and then answer them.

The years of being an engineer has taught me how to be a person. I learned to be both a team leader and a team player. Working in conjunction with others, I have always held onto the principle of being honest, modest and helpful to others, whether I was just a technician, an engineer or even the assistant to the general manager. I enjoy working with other people. I have been well liked by my colleagues. At the farewell parties for me, some of my friends were so reluctant to say goodbye to me that they would burst into tears.

While working for the Chinese factory, I was once "borrowed" by a college to teach there as an adjunct instructor for half a year. During those months, I often worked late to check students' work and prepare for the next day's classes. I believe that this teaching experience will serve me well should you be able to offer me the position of a teaching assistant.

At the graduate school, I have met new challenges the old way. I first acquired a profound understanding of the basic concepts and theories of mechanics (theoretical and material ones), and then applied the fundamentals to my major: composites. As you can see from the from the transcripts of academic record, this approach paid off. My first academic article Honeycomb Sandwich Composite will be published in the second edition of the Journal of Beijing Institute of Light Industry of 1998. Now I am writing my Master's Degree thesis, in which I shall compare the mechanical properties of corrugated cores and honeycomb cores, analyze the outstanding characters of the latter, establish the standards of civil-use honeycomb fiberboard, and consider the marketing future of honeycomb fiberboard.

I am confident that the combination of my extensive working experience and my solid academic training has adequately prepared me for advanced studies in my chosen field of specialty in your distinguished program. To undertake such studies, I have learned English well, so well that I was appointed first the English secretary to the factory's director and then the assistant to the joint-venture's general manager. In these positions, I dealt with international visitors and handled English documents. Such English proficiency should prove a great advantage to me once I am enrolled in your program.

自费出国留学的申请人凡属全日制高等教育机构公费在读专科和本科生、双学位生、研究生班学生、硕士和博士研究生;未完成大学和大学以上学业的中途退学人员;大学专科和本科毕业生、获双学位毕业生、研究生班毕业生、硕士和博士毕业生及全日制和非全日制成人高等学校公费在读学生和毕业生，如要求自费留学，须按规定完成服务年限或偿还培养费，并提前半年向所在单位提出申请，经所在单位同意后由申请自费出国留学人员将有关材料面交或邮寄所在地的省教育委员会，高教局审核。审核材料包括：

(1)申请人的学历(含所获学位)证明;

(2)申请人完成服务期年限的证明;

(3)申请人属六类人员的眷属所提交的省、自治区、直辖市一级侨务部门的证明;.

(4)申请人提交的未完成大学和大学以上学业的退学证明和偿还培养费证明，

(5)申请人提交的未完成服务期年限的非直系眷属所提交的偿还培养费证明;

(6)申请人所在单位同意其自费出国留学的证明。

审核部门在短期内提出审核意见，并通知被批准者填写“大学和大学以上学历人员自费出国留学申请表”，并为其出具证明，被批准后方可到公安机关办理出国手续。

其他人员申请办理自费出国留学一般可不必提出留学申请.但应提交相关的证明材料，如经济担保和入学通知书等。

二、选择学校及专业

1、选择学校的步骤

在选择所欲前往留学的学校时，可遵循以下步骤进行：

(1)查阅相关的专业文献及学术报刊，了解所学专业或所从事的科研在国外大学或科研机构的现状及发展情况，找出适合自己所学专业的教授或科研合作者，与之通信联系。

(2)到各地出国留学咨询处(如本公司)、科技情报中心、各大图书馆和国际互联网上查阅有关高等院校，科研机构的资料介绍，初步确定一个欲申请的大学名单。

(3)全面考虑选择学校应注意的各种因素，经过筛选，最后确定10～15所院校，然后分别与之联系。

2、申请自费出国留学的人员在选择学校时应当注重的问题

(1)欲申请自费出国留学的人员应当根据自己所学的外语语种确定留学国别，同时，在选择学校之前，最好先对自己的专业和外语水平做一次评估，要对自己的实际情况有一个客观的估计，以确保选择合适的国家和学校。

(2)注意所选学校的教育质量、专业设置、入学要求、录取标准、竞争情况等等，从而避免将来给自己带来的许多麻烦。

(3)注意所选学校及专业是否已经过该国的有关权威机构评估并认可。了解学校的教学、科研水平及专业设置情况是否与自己所学专业或所从事的研究相近，避免专业不对口。

(4)了

解学校的入学要求、录取标准、竞争情况及申请的截止日期等，客观地估计自己是否符合该校的录取标准及条件，有无较强的竞争能力：许多国家的大学对国外学生

入学都有具体要求。例如，美国许多大学都要求申请者交纳一小笔申请费，少数宗教学校禁止学生吸烟、喝酒等。所以，一定要考虑周全后再着手联系。

(5)了解学校的各种费用及经济资助情况。注意申请经济资助的条件及要求，看自己是否有可能获得该校的经济资助。一般来讲，应选择那些自己有资格获得财政资助的学校。注意学校所在地的气候、风风俗习惯等自己能否适应。最好不要与自己原生活地区的有关情况差异太大。申请人应根据自己对地点、气候和学校大小的爱好，在选择学校时把自然环境和经济因素结合起来考虑。

(6)注意所联系学校的入学申请截止日期。许多学校申请日期过后不再办理入学申请手续，另外，在联系时应该准备一定的提前量，以防意外事件对入学申请造成延误

三、与欲前往留学的院校联系

自费 出国留学人员必须确保能够获得足够的经济来源。外国学费、生活费、住宿费等各种费用年年上涨，申请留学者必须证明自己有足够能力支付这些费用。经济来源方

式有自筹资金、亲友资助、朋友担保、获取奖学金助学金、半工半读等方式。其中，足够的经济担保是各国普遍的要求，许多国家均对经济担保人的资格、担保金额

作出规定，并经常提高标准。当然，赴美、加留学，如果能获取较高的奖学金、助学金，可以不要经济担保。

经济担保

经济担保即有关资助单位或个人为申请留学者提供的经过公证的有效经济资助证明文件。没有经济担保证明又未获得对方学校资助者，学校一般不予录取。

各国对申请进入其国家就读学生所要求提供的经济担保证明材料不尽一致，有的要求提供多种证明材料，有的则不要求提供任何材料，只要求交足所需的各项费用就

可以了。但绝大部分国家都要求提供足以证明有经济能力负担留学人员所需费用的材料，包括经济担保书、银行存款证明书及个人收入的证明和税单。在具体办理

时，自费留学人员可根据所去国家的规定，办理所需经济担保材料。

1.关于经济担保书

经 济担保书就是经济担保人开具的写明自费留学人员与担保人的关系、自费留学人员所申请就读的国家、学校、专业及学习期限、表明经济担保入愿意承担自费留学人

员所需的一切费用(通常包括学费、生活费和交通费等)的函件。经济担保书一般用英文写就，用词要明确，层次要清楚，经济担保书可以向留学人员所申请的学校

提供，也可以向国内主办审批部门、机关或赴读国办理入境签证的使、领馆提供。如需向上述各方都提供经济担保书，只将正件提供给办理入境签迁的使、领馆，向

其他部门和机构提供担保书的影印副本即可。

2.经济担保人应注意的几个问照

(1)

经济担保人在向有关部门提交经济担保书及银行存款证明后，不必冻结其银行存款。但是，有关部门在审查经济担保人的经济担保能力时，则要求该银行存款在银行

中有一定存期，通常3个月至半年不等;此外，负责审批人境签证的外国使、领馆或机构，届时也会偶尔向银行查核该经济担保人在银行的存款，以防弄虚作假或其

他一些不负责任的行为发生。

(2)

经济柜保人的家产，如房屋和企业是担保人经济实力的具体体现，但是，有关部门只是把此作为审查经济担保人资格的参考，而不能作为主要依据。因为家产转变成

现金还有一个较复杂的过程，而且家产如房屋和企业等可以由个人通过贷款机构和银行申请贷款或通过分期付款的方法来维持，这种家产是属于经济担保人的，但又

不完全属于担保人的，因此经济担保人直接以自己的家产向出国留学人员提供经济担保是不容易行得通的。

3.几种经济担保人办理经济担保的方法

国内的担保人办理经济担保。国内的担保人办理经济担保要出具经济担保书和银行开具的银行存款证明书，在申请办理出国护照时，申请人必须向负责审批发放护照

的机关提供担保人在银行的外汇存款和资金的数额以及证明该外汇来源的合法性的材料。还要提供材料证明担保人与被担保人之间的关系，并提交已向国外学校交纳

学费和生活费的收据。

经济担保人应尽的责任

一般谓况下，经济担保人的责任主要是对自费留学人员进行经济担保。但是，经济担保人有些时候还要负有一定的法律责任，担保人应当明确意识到，一旦出具经济

担保书，从银行开出个人外汇存款和外汇资金证明书，到公证处办理公证签字手续之后，就必须在经济上、道义上和法律上履行责任。

四、申请奖学金和助学金

自费留学如果没有亲友的外汇资助，个人又没有足够的外汇存款，出国留学则需靠申请国外奖学金和助学金。欲申请自费出国留学的个入可申请外国高校的奖助学金项目、外国私立机构和基金会的资助项目。

1.奖学金

西方经济发达国家都设有各种各样的奖学金，以鼓励学业优秀者和具有科研能力的科学技术人员参加某一学科领域的研究或修完某一学业课程，奖学金的目标有两

种：一是奖励水平高的学生，一是补助家境困难的学生。奖学金来源是多方面的，有来自联邦政府、州政府或市政府的教育基金，有有关科学基金会提供的，有科研

机构和大学提供的，也有企业或个人捐助给学校的。大多数奖学金项目都有一个共同点，就是国际性，全世界的学生都可以申请或报考。

2. 助学金

助学金通常可分为两种：助教金和助研金。两种均需半“工”半读，半“工”的报酬，就是生活费用的来源。助学金所得需交所得税、但税率很低。

3. 申请奖、助学金时应注意的问题

自费出国留学人员在争取奖助学金时，要注意以下几点：

(1)申请本科课程的中国学生得到校方经济资助的机会微乎其微的，一般校方只给本科生免除部分或全部学费。研究生可申请的奖助学金多一些。

(2)有较高的外语水平，能熟练地用外语听、说，读、写。对自己作充分的自我推荐，并有一定声望的学者专家举荐。机会会多一些。

(3)申请就读有名的大学不一定容易获得奖助学金。通常世界名牌大学有着雄厚的师资力量，先进的教学科研设备和充足的资金，对学生的经济资助数额较多。

然而，由于知名度高，申请人也多，这样竞争一个奖助学金名额的申请者可能会有几千人之多。相反，有些知名度较低的大学的申请者较少，竞争奖助学金名额的人

可能只有十几个人，获得奖助学金的机会就大得多。

(4)理科专业的奖助学金名额的竞争程度不如工科激烈，因此相对来讲较易获得经济资助。人文专业的奖助学金名额数量很少。而法律、医学专业儿乎没有奖学金;

(5)注意地区因素，就—个国家而言，由于历史和资源等方面的原因，其区域性经济、文化、教育和科技发展不平衡。申请奖学金时如果把眼光转到不那么发达的地区，就较容易争取到奖学金和其他许多优惠。

(6)申请者应注意奖助学金申请的截止日期，提前一年或者更早地提出申请。

有些奖学金不太为人所知，因而申请人较少。本公司常年提供奖学金信息。有需要者可与本公司联系。

五、申办护照

我国颁发护照的机关及有关规定

各国颁发护照的规定是根据各自的法律制定的。我国规定：年满18周岁的中国公民可发给护照，不满18周岁的，因私出国，随其父母同行时可使用同一本护照。必要时也可以单独发给。

办理因公出国出境护照手续在省、市、自治区人民政府外事办公室和外交部授权的一些市外事办公室办理，经常有出国任务的部门或单位最好指定专人办理护照;偶尔有出访任务的部门或单位，最好派出访团组的译员，至少要派懂外文的同志办理。

我国公民因私申请出国出境的手续已做简化，如今仅凭户口本或身份证就可领取出国申请审批表，申请人只须提交与出国事由相关的证明材料，公民申请自费出国留

学的，如上正规大学，只需提交入学录取通知，在必要时还要提交经济担保;如上非正规大学，则还增加一项自保形式，此外，已被批准出国的持照人，在护照有效

期满前6个月之内，无需提交证明材料就可申请延期，特殊情况还可持有关签证证明提前申请办理，申请人如在规定时限内未获审批结果通知、可向公安机关查询。

收费标准也有统—规定。

六、申请留学签证

出国留学人员在领到本国护照并办妥出国手续后，还必须申办前往国家或地区的签证。如果没有签证。

报据出人境情况，签证一般分为：出境、入境、出入境，人出境和过境签证、再入境签证。有的国家还根据入出境事由将签证区分为移民签证、非移民签证、旅游观

光签证、工作签证、留学签证、商务签证和家属签证等等，有的国家规定，公民出国必须持有本国和外国的两种签证，才能允许出入境。我国公民出国只要具有我国

有效护照和外国签证，就能够出入国境。

A book called “Social and Cultural Anthropology: A Very Short Introduction”

by Peter Just and John Monaghan inclined me to study social anthropology as I

believe it is necessary to study another way of life in order to extend our own.

I am inquisitive and interested in human existence. I feel sociology would be a

good preparation for a variety of careers and it will help me keep my options

open. Having researched the modules that will be covered in the subject, I find

the subject even more compelling. I am keen to learn about other cultures as I

feel it will enhance my self and help me to abandon narrow vision. A degree will

contribute to fulfilling my academic potential. It will also allow me to deepen

my understanding of the aspects which constantly affect our lives, from the

seemingly trivial to those of utmost importance, the fascination of these

subjects lie in the fact that it has made me see in a new light. Considering my

background and my interests, I am choosing a degree in anthropology and

sociology.

I am currently studying A-Level sociology, media and business studies. All

three subjects have also helped broaden my critically thinking skills. These are

important as it has helped me view situations from a more objective perspective

which might be transferred to conducting ethnographic research. I thoroughly

enjoy all aspects of sociology and it is my strongest subject. It has helped me

make sense of the world and has become an integral part of my life. So far it

has been beneficial to me in many ways. For example, the module on education

enlightened me with reasons for underachievement in gender. Understanding these

reasons for success or failure has helped me improve my own educational

experience. I find sociology interesting as the concepts are useful when

debating and can be applied to everyday life. ‘Power and politics’ is really

enjoyable as I became aware of the political spectrum and ideologies which

underline each wing. Research methods developed my critical reasoning but

sociology in general has taught me intellectually stimulating material which is

why I desire to study the subject further.

Having lived in London and worked in a Japanese restaurant; I have fostered

an appreciation of social and cultural diversity. The way Japanese norms and

values differ from those of the Western world fascinates me and I wish to learn

more about other cultures, as well as our own society. Travelling to Northern

Ireland gave me ‘global specs’ as I gained a different understanding of their

society and it changed what I knew. My part-time job has made me realize the

importance of higher education in order to better myself. It has also improved

areas of expertise such as time-management and working in a people orientated

environment.

My hobbies range from contemporary dance to horse-riding. I enjoy traveling

and learning new languages. I am also an avid reader who enjoys non-fictional

texts. In my spare time I like to learn Swahili and Japanese. My aim is to

enroll on a French and/or Spanish course at University to advance my language

skills. In the summer I helped organize an event for Love Music Hate Racism. The

aim of the charity is to prevent an extreme right-wing ideology that is fascist

from gaining a platform. They celebrate diversity through music and urge people

to vote against fascist candidates in elections. This year I was voted class

representative for the Student Union which has given me the opportunity to use

my organizational and leadership skills. I need to be coherent, and

understanding of students’ needs. Representing my class has improved my

communication skills which are vital for getting the student’s points

across.

Overall, I believe I possess the skills necessary to complete this course

at University and I am determined to do my best.
