Everyone has his own dream. Some want to be doctors. Others hope to be writes. But my dream is to become a teacher. Because I admire teachers .Teachers can not teach us many things at school, but they do their best to teach us how to learn. Thanks to them, we learn knowledge. And at the same time, we learn how to live a happy life. They spend most time on their students. They are great in my heart.
I know it is not easy to make my dream come true. Zhang haidi aunt once said: "everyone's life is a boat, and ideal is the boat sails."

Predestination
many things in this world find neither an answer nor a proper explanation. for example, why should two become a couple among the billions of people on earth? why dont they love each other even though they live together everyday, and yet one of them falls in love with someone else at the first sight? why do the members of a family quarrel daily but still stay unhappily together? why cant they get married in spite of the fact that they are a perfect match to each other? why should one toil so much for the other? why should the love-infatuated always be deserted by the heartless?.....
people remain puzzled in spite of their great effort to understand the endless questions, so they invented the all-embracing word---“predestination”. in order to be more precise, different combinations were derived from it: love predestination, sinful predestination, evil predestination, and kind predestination etc., hence we have the sayings like: “predestination will definitely bring you together despite the great distance while without predestination, youll never know each other even though you are standing fact to face” “a distant couple is tied up with the thread of predestination” and even the phrases and expressions like “the god of marriage”, “predestination without luck”, “luck without predestination”, “coming across each other is a kind of predestination”, “enemies are bound to meet on a narrow road”, “they shall not marry each other unless they are predestined lovers”. if people still can not find answers, they turn to “reincarnation” for help. lin daiyu is always in tears just for repaying for the water jia baoyu had given her when she was a plant in her previous life in a dream of the red mansions .
in fact, the so-called “predestination” is often a kind of coincidence or chance encounter, even a kind of accident. if you dont meet this person, youll surely meet some one else. but people insist on adding some colors of emotions or superstition, thus generating various religious factions, the main theories of which are no more than that of “reincarnation”, “heaven and hell” and “the ever-lasting soul” etc.
but does anyone know anything about his previous life or his after life? what could he do even if he knew them? if he cant grasp the present life, whats the benefit of commenting on the visionary after life? giving up today is the same as giving up tomorrow, for they are closely connected. how absurd it is to work like the horse or cattle in the present life in order to be above others in the next life.
have you ever seen emperor qinshihuang reincarnate? have you ever heard of emperor wudi of the han dynasty going into another life? where is now monk xuanzang of the tang dynasty (what we know is the big wild goose pagoda)? where is the monkey king (the flower and fruit mountain does exist, though)? and where can we find those great emperors such as yao , shun yu and the influential philosophers like confucius, laozi and zhuangzi?
how many heavens do we find? are they also divided into the oriental and the occidental world? is god a chinese or westerner? which is the greatest religion among buddhism, daoism, christianity, catholicity and islamism? all religions advocate doing good deeds and not killing, but why do they keep contending against each other, even fighting and killing among themselves? is the paradise the same one in all religions? theres only one sun in the sky, and there should be only one emperor in a country, but do all religions believe in the same god, or do they have different gods of their own? if all of us expected gods help, wouldnt god be too busy and too tired?
does god respect science? if not, why does he allow computers and telecommunications to run rampant? if it is god who created human beings, then doesnt he feel out of control of what the human being are doing now (the nuclear weapons and bio-chemical weapons, etc.)?
we human beings have an origin, and is it the same with god? does god get married? is god hereditary, or is it the same ever-lasting one?
we have all those questions but who can answer them?.
predestination needs us to strive for; friendship needs us to maintain; good will needs us to treasure and future needs us to create. there is no savior, nor goddess of mercy who once saved people in the past but cannot do anything to help the people at the present. the world is developing too fast.
people have to work together and associate with each other. talking about predestination, its just a kind of explanation about what has happened, and im afraid nobody can predict it before hand. from ancient times till the 1980 s, once getting married, the couple had to stick to each other for their whole life. can we say it is because of their life-long predestination? it is just because of the marriage system. in the western countries, life-long marriage is rare. can we sa
y it is because their predestination makes it so? it is actually the result of human nature. the color of love could be attached to predestination, but not the color of superstition.
predestination is a lovely word which we should treasure and respect. in the present world, we should always follow the win-win or multi-win policy, instead of being single-handed. in order to achieve success, we must gain mass support instead of indulging in self-admiration. we might as well call the communication, the cooperation, the common concerns and the common aspirations of human beings “predestination”.

Youth Day (青年节) in the Peoples Republic of China is on May 4. It was established in December 1949 by the Government Administration Council to commemorate the beginning of the May Fourth Movement in 1919. This day is known as ...
May Fourth Movement
Chinese intellectual revolution and sociopolitical reform movement (1917 – 21). In 1915 young intellectuals inspired by Chen Duxiu began agitating for the reform and strengthening of Chinese society through acceptance of Western science, democracy, and schools of thought, one objective being to make China strong enough to resist Western imperialism. On May 4, 1919, reformist zeal found focus in a protest by Beijings students against the Versailles Peace Conferences decision to transfer former German concessions in China to Japan. After more than a month of demonstrations, strikes, and boycotts of Japanese goods, the government gave way and refused to sign the peace treaty with Germany. The movement spurred the successful reorganization of the Nationalist Party and gave birth to the Chinese Communist Party. See also Treaty of Versailles.

期望值过高:孩子拼命按家长的意愿生活、学习,也许父母感到满足,但孩子生活得较为压抑,甚至影响心理健康。尽力后仍达不到家长的要求,双方均失望,可能导致孩子自暴自弃;

Crossing the Sea
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. The title of my speech today is "Crossing the Sea".
An English poet by the name of Rudyard Kipling once wrote in his poem "We and They":
"All the people like us are We
And everyone else is They
We live over the sea
While They live over the way
We eat pork and beef with cowhorn-handled knives
They who gobble their rice off a leaf
Are horrified out of their lives."
When these lines first caught my eyes, I was shocked-how could two peoples remain so isolated and ignorant of each other in the past? Today's society, of course, is an entirely different picture. Those people who used to eat with cowhorn-handled knives might be very skillful in using chopsticks, and those people who used to gobble their rice might be as well have taken to fish and chips.
Indeed, just take China as an example: Our modern life has been influenced by Western style of living in so many ways that it's no longer surprising to see teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole families dining out at McDonald's and even rather elderly people dressed in Apple Jeans.
However, these are only some expressions of the cultural changes taking place in our society today. What is really going on is a subtle but significant restructuring of the nation's mentality. Just look around.
How many college graduates are ready to compete aggressively for every job opportunity, whereas not long ago they were asked just to sit idle and wait for whatever was to be assigned to them by the government?
How many young people are now eager to seek for an independent life whereas only two decades ago they would rely totally on their parents to arrange for their future? Ask anyone who participates in today's speech contest. Who has not come with a will to fight and who has not come determined to achieve self-fulfillment in winning the game? And I'm quite certain that if Confucius had lived to see today's China, he would have been horrified to see young lovers kissing each other in public places in an unreserved expression of their passion.
It is therefore evident that we as descendants of an ancient Eastern civilization are already living under strong inf1uence of the Western culture. But it is not only in China that we find the incorporation of the two cultures.
Take the United States as an example: During the 1980s,in face of the overwhelming competition from Japan, many American companies such as the Ford began to adopt a teamwork management from their rivals, the essence of which, lay at the very core of Eastern culture.
Take the Chinese acupuncture as another example: This traditional treatment of diseases is finally finding its way to the West and hence the underlying notion that illness is resulted from the imbalance between Yin and Yang within the body -- an idea which would strike any Westerner as incredible in the past!
Ladies and Gentlemen, we live in a great epoch when the global integration of economy and the information revolution have brought cultures of the world closer than ever before. We live in a particular era when countries, East and West, find themselves in need of readjusting their traditional values. We live, at the same time, at a critical juncture of our evolution because such problems as ethnic conflicts and regional unrest are increasingly posing a threat to the peace and happiness of the whole human race. To cope with such an era and to embrace an even brighter future, we need to learn to live more harmoniously in a world community which is becoming smaller and smaller.
My dear fellow students, our command of the English language renders it possible for us to gain an insight into Western culture while retaining our own cultural identity. Therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual understanding between China and the rest of the world.
It is my happiest dream that the new generation of Chinese will not only grow up drinking Coca-Cola and watching Hollywood, but also be blessed with the far-reaching benefits of multiple cultures; benefits that our forefathers had never, ever dreamed of.
To end my speech, I would like to quote Rudyard Kipling again:
"All the people like us are We
And everyone else is They
But once you cross over the sea
You will end by looking on We
As only a sort of They"
Thank you.
女士们,先生们,我们恰逢一个伟大的时代:全球经济一体化、信息革命使得世界各种文化联系比以往更加紧密;

My favorite food is strawberry ice-cream. There’re five persons in my family, my grandma, my grandpa, my mother, my father, and me. And I love all of them.
Next, I want to tell a story of A Clever Panda to all of you . I hope you’ll like it.
But the pumpkin is too big. The panda can’t take it home.
Suddenly she sees a bear riding a bike toward her. She watches the bike.
“I know!I have a good idea.” she jumps and shouts happily,
“I can roll a pumpkin. It’s like a wheel.”
So she rolls the pumpkin to her home. When her mother sees the big pumpkin, she is surprised, “Oh, my God! How can you carry it home?”the little panda answers proudly, “I can’t lift it, but I can roll it.”
Her mother smiled and says,“What a clever girl! Use you heard to do something,”
In the world, I am sure that no one dare say he hasn't met any trouble all his life. So we must face failure. In fact, failure is not fearful, but important thing is how to face it correctly. Facing failure, people will never take their fate lying down. They will try their best to work harder and harder until at last they succeed.
Not being courageous to face setbacks, people have no chance to enjoy the pleasure of success. So they have nothing to do but feel sad and empty all day and all night. In fact, they lose the chance of success themselves.
My friend, whenever in trouble, please remember, “Failure is the mother of success.”
Twists and turns in life are unavoidable and are not always bad. We should have a more optimistic view on life and try to make the most of it and draw lessons from the bumps and turns along the way.
If there is any single factor that makes for success in living, it is the ability to profit by defeat. Every success I know has been achieved because the person was able to analyze defeat and actually profit by it in his next undertaking. Confuse defeat with failure, and you are doomed indeed to failure. For it isn't defeat that makes you fail: it is your own refusal to see in defeat the guide and encouragement to success. Defeats are nothing to be ashamed of. They are routine incidents in the life of every man who achieves success. But defeat is a dead loss unless you do face it without humiliation, analyze it and learn why you failed.
Defeat, in other words, can help to cure its own cause. Not only does defeat prepare us for success, but nothing can arouse within us such a compelling desire to succeed. If you let a baby grasp a rod and try to pull it away, he will cling more and more tightly until his whole weight is suspended. It is this same reaction which should give you new and greater strength every time you are defeated. If you exploit the power which defeat gives, you can accomplish with it far more than you are capable of.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen:
The title of my speech today is “The Doors that Are Open to Us ”.
The other day my aunt paid me a visit. She was overjoyed. “I got the highest mark in the mid-term examination!” she said. Dont be surprised! My aunt is indeed a student; to be exact, a college student at the age of 45.
Last year, she put aside her private business and signed up for a one-year, full-time management course in a college. “This was the wisest decision I have ever made,” she said proudly like a teenage girl. To her, college is always a right place to pick up new ideas, and new ideas always make her feel young.
“Compared with the late 70s,” she says, “now college students have many doors.” My aunt cannot help but recall her first college experience in 1978 when college doors began to be re-opened after the Cultural Revolution. She was assigned to study engineering despite her desire to study Chinese literature, and a few years later, the government sent her to work in a TV factory.
I was shocked when she first told me how she (had) had no choice in her major and job. Look at us today! So many doors are open to us! I believe there have never been such abundant opportunities for self-development as we have today. And my aunt told me that we should reach our goals by grasping all these opportunities.
The first door I see is the opportunity to study different kinds of subjects that interest us. My aunt said she was happy to study management, but she was also happy that she could attend lectures on ancient Chinese poetry and on Shakespearean drama. As for myself, I am an English major, but I may also go to lectures on history. To me, if college education in the past emphasized specialization, now, it emphasizes free and well-rounded development of each individual. So all the fine achievements of human civilization are open to us.
The second door is the door to the outside world. Learning goes beyond classrooms and national boundaries. My aunt remembers her previous college days as monotonous and even calls her generation “frogs in a well.” But today, as the world becomes a global village, it is important that our neighbors and we be open-minded to learn with and from each other. I have many fellow international classmates, and I am applying to an exchange program with a university abroad. As for my aunt, she is planning to get an MBA degree in the United Kingdom where her daughter, my cousin, is now doing her masters degree in biochemistry. We are now taking the opportunity to study overseas, and when we come back, well put to use what we have learnt abroad.
The third door is the door to lifelong learning. As new ideas appear all the time, we always need to acquire new knowledge, regardless of our age. Naturally, my aunt herself is the best example. Many of my aunts contemporaries say that she is amazingly up-to-date for a middle-aged woman. She simply responds,“Age doesnt matter. What matters is your attitude. You may think its strange that I am still going to college, but I dont think Im too old to learn.”Yes, she is right. Since the government removed the age limit for college admissions in 20xx, there are already some untraditional students, sitting with us in the same classrooms. Like these people, my aunt is old but she is very young in spirit. With her incredible energy and determination, she embodies both tradition and modernity.
The doors open to us also pose challenges. For instance, we are faced with the challenge of a balanced learning, the challenge of preserving our fine tradition while learning from the West, and the challenge of learning continuously while carrying heavy responsibilities to our work and family. So, each door is a test of our courage, ability and judgment, but with the support of my teachers, parents, friends and my aunt, I believe I can meet the challenge head on. When I reach my aunts age, I can be proud to say that I have walked through dozens of doors and will, in the remainder of my life, walk through many more. Possibly I will go back to college, too.
Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.

Do You Know My Work?
One night a hotel caught fire, and the people who were staying in it ran out in their night clothes.
Two men stood outside and looked at the fire.
“Before I came out,” said one,“I ran into some of the rooms and found a lot of money. People don't think of money when they're afraid. When anyone leaves paper money in a fire, the fire burns it. So I took all the bills that I could find.No one will be poorer because I took them.”
“You don't know my work,” said the other.
“What is your work?”
“I'm a policeman.
“Oh!” cried the first man. He thought quickly and said,“And do you know my work?”“No,”said the policeman.
“I'm a writer. I'm always telling stories about things that never happened.”
Students, guests , teachers and Honorable Judges.
Good morning !
my great pleasure to share my dream with you today. my dream is to become a teacher....
As the whole world has its boundaries, limits and freedom coexist in our life. I don’t expect complete freedom, which is impossible. I simply have a dream that supports my life.
I dream that one day, I could escape from the deep sea of thick schoolbooks and lead my own life. With my favorite fictions, I lie freely on the green grass, smelling the spring, listening to the wind singing, breathing the fresh and cool air and dissolve my soul in nature at last. Simple and short enjoyment can bring me great satisfaction.
I dream that one day the adults could throw their prejudice of comic and cartoon away. They could keep a lovely heart that can share sorrow and happiness with us while watching cartoon or doing personal things. That’s the real communication of heart to heart.
I have the belief that my dreams should come true. I am looking forward to some day coming when I am like a proud eagle, which flies to the blue and vast sky.
I was one of the only kids in college who had a reason to go to the P.O. box at the end of the day, and that was mainly because my mother has never believed in email, in Facebook, in texting or cell phones in general. And so while other kids were BBM-ing their parents, I was literally waiting by the mailbox to get a letter from home to see how the weekend had gone, which was a little frustrating when Grandma was in the hospital, but I was just looking for some sort of scribble, some unkempt cursive from my mother.
And so when I moved to New York City after college and got completely sucker-punched in the face by depression, I did the only thing I could think of at the time. I wrote those same kinds of letters that my mother had written me for strangers, and tucked them all throughout the city, dozens and dozens of them. I left them everywhere, in cafes and in libraries, at the U.N., everywhere. I blogged about those letters and the days when they were necessary, and I posed a kind of crazy promise to the Internet: that if you asked me for a hand-written letter, I would write you one, no questions asked. Overnight, my inbox morphed into this harbor of heartbreak -- a single mother in Sacramento, a girl being bullied in rural Kansas, all asking me, a 22-year-old girl who barely even knew her own coffee order, to write them a love letter and give them a reason to wait by the mailbox.
Well, today I fuel a global organization that is fueled by those trips to the mailbox, fueled by the ways in which we can harness social media like never before to write and mail strangers letters when they need them most, but most of all, fueled by crates of mail like this one, my trusty mail crate, filled with the scriptings of ordinary people, strangers writing letters to other strangers not because they're ever going to meet and laugh over a cup of coffee, but because they have found one another by way of letter-writing.
But, you know, the thing that always gets me about these letters is that most of them have been written by people that have never known themselves loved on a piece of paper. They could not tell you about the ink of their own love letters. They're the ones from my generation, the ones of us that have grown up into a world where everything is paperless, and where some of our best conversations have happened upon a screen. We have learned to diary our pain onto Facebook, and we speak swiftly in 140 characters or less.
But what if it's not about efficiency this time? I was on the subway yesterday with this mail crate, which is a conversation starter, let me tell you. If you ever need one, just carry one of these. (Laughter) And a man just stared at me, and he was like, "Well, why don't you use the Internet?" And I thought, "Well, sir, I am not a strategist, nor am I specialist. I am merely a storyteller." And so I could tell you about a woman whose husband has just come home from Afghanistan, and she is having a hard time unearthing this thing called conversation, and so she tucks love letters throughout the house as a way to say, "Come back to me. Find me when you can." Or a girl who decides that she is going to leave love letters around her campus in Dubuque, Iowa, only to find her efforts ripple-effected the next day when she walks out onto the quad and finds love letters hanging from the trees, tucked in the bushes and the benches. Or the man who decides that he is going to take his life, uses Facebook as a way to say goodbye to friends and family. Well, tonight he sleeps safely with a stack of letters just like this one tucked beneath his pillow, scripted by strangers who were there for him when.
These are the kinds of stories that convinced me that letter-writing will never again need to flip back her hair and talk about efficiency, because she is an art form now, all the parts of her, the signing, the scripting, the mailing, the doodles in the margins. The mere fact that somebody would even just sit down, pull out a piece of paper and think about someone the whole way through, with an intention that is so much harder to unearth when the browser is up and the iPhone is pinging and we've got six conversations rolling in at once, that is an art form that does not fall down to the Goliath of "get faster," no matter how many social networks we might join. We still clutch close these letters to our chest, to the words that speak louder than loud, when we turn pages into palettes to say the things that we have needed to say, the words that we have needed to write, to sisters and brothers and even to strangers, for far too long. Thank you. (Applause) (Applause)
If a crystal of life, beautiful and fragile.
I do not know may be laughter when the face yesterday, today has disappear yesterday dynamic figure, today there are only cold on the body, yesterday pulse beating heart has stopped beating today. Life is such a heavy, heavy I do not dare to look too.
However, in reality it would feel no lingering someone to give up their lives, shocking and regrettable. A couple of days ago to see an article written last year, and a 13-year-old boy in a position decisively, jump from a height under fly. All online games only because he got hooked on "Warcraft", was possessed by the Devil, not only to write the game notes, and finally select a game to die, fly from 24 floors, he only lived for 13 years, all only just begun, has to rush the end. Is necessary to test a few days, in the past always heard that a certain candidate because a bad grade or bad mental quality will be at the examination before or after the examination committed suicide, I do not know this year what is going to happen.
Parenting our parents put up with all kinds for decades, but not what our return, but I just hope our good life, healthy life. How can we bear to see his elderly parents lost their sons and daughters of face when, how old bear to see the body because of the grief and trembling, how helpless elderly bear to see it lonely? Not only their own lives as well as parents, it is our responsibility to live as well as obligations. Our parents are the continuation of life, we are not separate individuals, but their parents hope and support, and when the parents when we have an obligation to take care of the elderly care for them, life too short to be afraid of us do not have the time and parents get along well, how can easily the end of it? Have the shoulders of our heavy duty, life is so precious and important, how can it give up?
With age, our mental capacity should also be subject to growth, there must be a be able to bear the external pressure and the courage to overcome difficulties, in the face of the question to think of ways to solve the problem, rather than evade, or even choose to die. The win is not never really failed, but one hundred times in the fall after the article at first have the courage to stand up when it sounds as if it is very difficult, in fact, very simple, we want to do again and again only the after a fall at its feet. No one lives forever are the winner, the failure is not terrible, terrible loss of face are the failure of courage, can not afford to encounter difficulties, it will only want to escape the just, want to die to the end of this is the real failure. Is it true can die on the end of it? Relax their death to their loved ones did not think about the pain and hurt caused by their release brought the others along the path of endless troubles, this is how selfish and irresponsible, how childish behavi.
We should be together on the physical and mental maturity,Often in the classroom every day to hear someone shouting ah , I want to jump off the upstairs ah ... ... In fact, they do not know, life is a kind of greatest happiness, Happiness is a unique, life care are required in detail to the treasure. If you can not give up easily, it is undoubtedly the lack of respect for life, with such a person does not have a life!
The dead now rested in peace, people living in silence can only wish them, and then continue to take their own road.

It is easy to describe success in terms of money, fame and reputation. But I believe that success is not external. I believe that success comes from within. My definition of success is to be true to yourself, and be true to others. That means, that you must cherish your personal ideal even in the face of adversity. I also believe that success is not discriminatory. Success is not restricted to such a class of people, in fact, it may be achieved by any person irrespective of his race, creed, gender and economic background. A good example of success is that of Beethoven. He is one of the world's most famous composers, yet he was deaf. He could not hear the majestic pieces of music that he created. Yet, in the face of this adversity, he was able to maintain his ideals--that of composing music.
To exemplify what success means to me, I pose a question to all of you. What brings us together here today? I believe that it is the beauty of the spoken word. The effect of pause and the sound of rhetoric are unique to the spoken word. I believe the beauty of the spoken word is even stronger for those who have difficulty in expressing themselves. These people are reclusive and had their emotions hidden within them. I once went to Australia and I saw two pictures, Once was drawn by a normal child, the other was drawn by a child with social inhibitions. The picture drawn by the normal child was simple and plain. The other was life-like, full of details and imagination. What this shows is that these are ideas, emotions and feelings that are locked internally in these children.
My ideal is to be the key, spreading the beauty of the spoken words to these children. These children have been neglected, but I feel that I can and should help these children to find themselves and be able to express themselves.
I realize that this is a difficult task, and there are many obstacles on the way. But I believe in my ideals and I will stick to them--even in the face of adversity. We should never have a premature abortion of ideals--let the child, let our ideals, stand the challenge. For a life without ideals is not living.
Thank you!
1.Some say growing up in rich family promotes children's personality and character. Some think otherwise. What's your opinion? Why?
Well, it's quite a question argued by people all the time. I think a person's personality has little relation to his family economic level. It's commonly said that a child in rich family will has more chances and better choice for his study. However, if the kid himself isn't aware of this, that is all in vain. It's not unusual that many children from rich family are quite rude and conceited although they are always receive the best education. Then, how about the poor family's children? There is another saying that adversity cultivates heroes. To be honest, I disagree with it too. Poor children should learn harder and catch every chance to strengthen themselves. However, the reality is often not like that. Subjectively speaking, poor children are easy to feel inferior and thus can't study well. Even if they study well, they hardly do well in practicing ability. Objectively speaking, poor children can hardly receive good and plentiful education because of the economic limit. That will cause deficiency in some literal or artistic talent such as music or dance. Therefore, I think children's personality have little relation to their family situation.
2.In universities, students should take history courses no matter what field they study. Do you agree?
I disagree with it even though I do know history is important. I'm a student major in electricity. To be honest, I think there is little sense for students in university taking history courses no matter what field they study. Maybe many people would say, history is something left by our ancestors, so we shouldn't forget it. Yes, I agree with that. History need to be remembered. But in fact, we have been learning history from primary school. I really it's enough for people like me whose major has little relation to history. I just take history exam last year. For me, it was really a nightmare. I spent so much time on it and still can remember all. Now that we're chosen engineering, I can't understand why we need and have to learn history again. The time spent on history learning should be used for our major courses.
