Without question, many of us have mastered the neurotic art of spending

much of our lives worrying about variety of things -- all at once. We allow past

problems and future concerns to dominate your present moments, so much so that

we end up anxious, frustrated, depressed, and hopeless. On the flip side, we

also postpone our gratification, our stated priorities, and our happiness, often

convincing ourselves that "someday" will be much better than today.

Unfortunately, the same mental dynamics that tell us to look toward the future

will only repeat themselves so that 'someday' never actually arrives. John

Lennone once said, "Life is what is happening while we are busy making other

plans." When we are busy making 'other plans', our children are busy growing up,

the people we love are moving away and dying, our bodies are getting out of

shape, and our dreams are slipping away. In short, we miss out on life.

Many people lives as if life is a dress rehearsal for some later date. It

isn't. In fact, no one has a guarantee that he or she will be here tomorrow. Now

is the only time we have, and the only time that we have any control over. When

our attention is in the present moment, we push fear from our minds. Fear is the

concern over events that might happen in the future -- we won't have enoughh

money, our children will get into trouble, we will get old and die,

whatever.

To combat fear, the best stradegy is to learn to bring your attention back

to the present. Mark Twain said,"I have been through some terrible things in

life, some of which actually happened." I don't think I can say it any better.

Practice keeping your attention on the here and now. Your effort will pay great

dividends.

Hello everyone! My name is, a student from*college. I am glad to give you a speech about my university. The title of my speech is My college, my home.

Last September I left my hometown with heavy baggage and after a journey of ten hours, I came to this dream campus with great expectation and excitement.

I was deeply attracted by the elegant environment of our campus the moment I stepped into the university. Straight, wide roads enjoyed the shade and shelter provided by lordly, green trees. Ancient buildings of great refinement enjoyed the company of flocks of birds flying and singing overhead. Scrolls of warm welcome greeted me and volunteers with smiles came to my help. My heart was filled with warmth. Yeah, this is the place where I will spend 4 years and this place will be my home!

Whenever I recall the past days, so many thoughts are flooding in my mind. But what impressed me most is a night when I got a stomachache during the first days. I had to turn to the aunts in charge of our dormitory for help. They were so friendly and warm-hearted. They gave me the pills and reminded me of having more hot water. I recovered soon and I thanked them from the bottom of my heart because they brought me the warmth of home.

Our university is a famous academic center. The teaching staff are all learned professors. Many of them are world-wide known for their wide range of knowledge and charming personality. I respect my teachers! I admire my teachers! I love my teachers! Various activities are carried here. They not only bring me happiness but also improve myself. I meet with a lot of classmates and make a large number of friends. When I feel upset, the will give me a hand; when I am happy, I will share with them. The library has a large collection of books and I always lose myself in it. I believe they will benefit me a lot and are to broaden the roads of my future.

happiness, therefore, we would like to thank the parents.Parents’ love is the

most unconditional and thus the greatest love in the world.Our parents have done

much for us since we were born,They give us lots of love and care,but we do not

Last week our music teacher taught us a song, named Indebted Heart. Through

it I know that we should live with a thankful heart. At that time, I think of my

parents. I think they are the first people I should thank. It’s them who give me

life. It’s them who give me home. It’s them who bring me up. It’s them who look

after me. It’s them who teach me knowledge and live happily. I should thank my

parents giving me so much. Maybe I should think how to pay back the love my

parents give me. But now I think the best way to be appreciated of my parents is

to study well and then being a useful person to the society when I grow up.

Gratitude is the feeling of being grateful, the art of receiving

gracefully, and the act of showing appreciation for every act of kindness, big

or small, that others do for us.Gratitude can take many forms. It can be

expressed by a large, dramatic gesture or it can be shown in a small way, like

finding a very original and personal way to say thanks for a friend’s gift.

Whatever we do to show our gratitude, we should do it in a sincere manner, for

it is the feelings in our hearts that matters the most.The story reminds us how

important it is to express our gratitude to the ones who have offered us help.

We can never be too grateful. The smiles and the thanks we give help us to build

a better world, one that we can all live in and enjoy.

The Wholeness of Life

Once a circle missed a wedge. The circle wanted to be whole, so it went

around looking for its missing piece. But because it was incomplete and

therefore could roll only very slowly, it admired the flowers along the way. It

chatted with worms. It enjoyed the sunshine. It found lots of different pieces,

but none of them fit. So it left them all by the side of the road and kept on

searching.

Then one day the circle found a piece that fit perfectly. It was so happy.

Now it could be whole, with nothing missing. It incorporated the missing piece

into itself and began to roll. Now that it was a perfect circle, it could roll

very fast, too fast to notice flowers or talk to the worms. When it realized how

different the world seemed when it rolled so quickly, it stopped, left its found

piece by the side of the road and rolled slowly away.

There is a wholeness about the person who has come to terms with his

limitations, who has been brave enough to let go of his unrealistic dreams and

not feel like a failure for doing so. There is a wholeness about the man or

woman who has learned that he or she is strong enough to go through a tragedy

and survive, she can lose someone and still feel like a complete person.

人生的完整

从前有个圆圈，它丢失了一小段。它想变得完整，于是它到处寻找它所丢失的那部分。由于不完整，它只能滚的非常慢。在路上，它羡慕过花儿，它与虫子聊过天，它享受了阳光的照耀。它遇到过很多不同的小段，可是没有一个适合它。所以它把它们丢在路边，继续寻找。

有一天，圆圈找到了可以与它完美结合的一小段，它非常高兴。它现在终于完整了，不缺任何东西了。它把丢失的那段装到自己身上，然后滚了起来。它现在是个完整的圆圈了，它可以滚的很快，，快到忽视了花儿，快到没有时间和虫子们说话。当它意识到由于它滚的太快，世界变得如此的不同时，它便停了下来，把找到的那段卸下丢在路边，慢慢地滚走了。

人生的完整性，在于接受自己的缺陷，勇敢地丢弃不切实际的幻想，并且不觉得这样做是失败的;人生的完整性，在于知道自己足够强大，可以承受人生的苦难，可以在失去一个人时仍然觉得自己是完整的。
