When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at 80.

三年前的典礼叫开学，三年后的今日是毕业。毕业――意味着你们即将告别图书馆的潜心阅读，自习室的匆忙占座，辅导员的语重心长;毕业――意味着你们即将告别食堂的刷卡、不夜天的聚餐，晚上十一点统一熄灯的不安;毕业――意味着你们即将告别社团的热闹，学生会干部的踌躇满志，评比获奖的无比喜悦。然而，毕业还有更为重要的意义。

如果有更多的时间，我最想和大家交流的是有关通识教育的话题。4年前你们来到复旦，我们一起见证了复旦学院的成立。根据我们对人才培养的理解，我们希望通过建立书院的制度，鼓励有不同兴趣、专长、天赋及学科背景、不同地区，甚至不同国家的学生朝夕相处，促进多元文化融合。同时透过复旦学院这一平台，我们不断完善通识教育体系，其目的是希望复旦的学生能够了解不同知识的统一和差别，了解不同学科的智慧境界和思考方式，养成独立思考的习惯，养成完整的人格。

“在浩瀚的生命之岸，你应该自豪地告诉世界，你追求过，你奋斗过，你为辉煌的人生从来没有放弃过希望，从来没有停止过拼搏。而这个造就了万物的世界也将自豪而欣慰地回答你：只要奋斗不息，人生终将辉煌。”

同学们，人生有很多个十年，但如果刚好是十八到二十八岁，那就是一辈子了。十八至二十八岁这十年是人生相当关键、宛如地基般的黄金十年，这十年如果你可以看得清楚、站得稳，往后你就可以走得很远。这十年也可能是挫折连连的十年，所以请给自己打不死的勇气，不要半路阵亡，有志者就能事竟成。

离别如期而至，感觉却如此匆匆。三年太短，当我们终于明白同学间的小小争执是心灵交汇擦出的灿烂火花;当我们终于明白老师的严厉的批评背后是如此殷切的期望;当我们终于明白家长的责备是内心关爱的表现时，离别，却已来临。

回望10年，学长们创造了高考的辉煌;那么今朝我们将长风破浪续写一中辉煌。高一高二的学弟学妹们，希望你们也珍惜在一中这美丽的校园里时光，用勤奋灌溉梦想，用勇气追求成功。

It is natural that difficulties hide in every corner of our life,so we have

to face them at times.Whatever we have undergone in our life, we shouldn't

complain about it. We may get a lot or lose so much in our life journey, but

keeping a positive attitude should always be together with us. Nothing can

defeat us if we are confident and diligent. Just as saying goes, God is equal to

everyone. As he closes the door, he will also open a window for us.

Many of us have seen a picture on the Internet of a man with a nice smile

is struggling along with the aid of a stick because of losing one of his

feet,and another man is sitting on the ground without shoes on his feet,looking

anxious and depressed.How different the expressions flitting across their faces

are!At the bottom of the drawing says”Because I have no shoes,I keep complaining

until I find another man who has lost one of his feet.”

What an impressive drawing it is in revealing different attitudes toward

life!A person's attitude towards life is very important, it determines your

life, which path you are taking and how your life will become. if you are a

person with very strong positive outlook, no matter what difficulties you

encounter, you will always look at the bright side of life and never give up

easily. Take Thomas Edison as an example.Before inventing the electric bulb,he

had tried thousands of materials for lamp filament,but failed.Despite others’

laughing at him.he said,”I am not a failure,at least I have proved these

materials are not fit for filament.”Before long he invented electric bulb.

The most frequent example you see are those patients or people that are

handicapped or suffering from some type of illness like cancer. They do not give

up any glimpse of hope and continue fighting till they their last breathe. Even

those very determined handicapped,they do not blame the world for their disable.

Instead, they are contented and blessed with all the rest the have, their family

, friends and those who support them greatly. Those handicapped with negative

attitude towards life will feel that the world is unfair and they life in misery

and always feel that they are unless and unwanted.

All in all,it is our attitudes that have changed everything in our life and

help us to pull through all hardships.So we should strive to develop a positive

attitude toward life and the world.It is convinced that only when we are

equipped with optimism and confidence can we achieve success in the future.

Melody of Youth

Ladies and gentlemen:

Good morning! I am very glad to stand here and share the topic of “youth” with you. I come from and my name is maxfu. Today my topic is “Melody of Youth”.

Some people say that youth is a rising sun, carries infinite hope and irradiates dazzling light.

Some people say that youth is a ball of blaze, flickers the flame of passion, dances the melody of youth.

Some people say that youth is a roaring river, bursts out the voice of confidence, flows the boldness of youth.

Some people say that youth is a fresh willow, has not only the endless tenderness, but also the iron will.

It’s true. Youth is ought to be a life with great persistence, which is full of hope, enthusiasm, assurance, belief and keep striving during all your life.

Since we know how wonderful the youth is, how can we build our own youth wonderful?

Firstly, I think you should set an ambition. Sam Walton has told us: High expectation is the key to everything. Ideals are the navigation mark and ambitions are the power for our striving.

Secondly, I think you should think more. Look before you leap, we are impetuous, if we consider everything calmly; there’s nothing that we can not do successfully.

Thirdly, I think you should work hard. An idle youth， a needy age. When we are young we are supposed to struggle, to do everything by ourselves so that we can get more experience for our future. As it’s said the beautiful rainbow always appears after a ding-on and the wealthy harvest always comes from laborious tillage.

Lastly, I think you should have a mood of optimism. Being positive, when we meet the frustration, can help us learn how to he stronger. Cause we are young, there’s no fail if only we try it again. Don’t get dizzy with success, and don’t get upset with failure.

By the way, being in youth doesn’t only mean you are young at your age. Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind. I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! To begin with

,I want to ask a question .Does everybody dream a good dream last night?

Actually ,today I want to talk about dream with you. Of course, What I want to

talk is not a dream you have last night,but a dream—— about life.

Everyone has dreams about life, different dreams at different life

stage,and we need dreams to support us. Dreams are like the stars we never reach

in the sky,but like most mariners(水手),we can chart our course by them. With the

dream,we have a direction,with a direction, we were no longer confused.With the

dream, there is hope,With hope, we have the strength to fight.

But I know，life is tough,and there are always ups and downs, maybe we fail

in the way to our aims,and we may feel depressed ,whenever at this time, the

dream in our heart can always comfort us, encourage us ,and support us to move

ahead .

Young!Fortunately, I am young now. Just due to it, I know that nothing is

impossible.I firmly believe that nothing can stand in my way. If

I can't realize my dream,it result from that I haven't work harder enough

and I won't find other excuses. If no people believe you, you can make it to

prove that you are right. If you think the god haven't blessed you and there is

no truth here, you can become the god and create the truth.

"My breath swallows the sky and make the yellow river overflow, my sword is

famous in Kyushu and it can collapse the five sacred mountains." At some time in

the past I also had am bitious words and I had some achievements. Each

achievement results from my hard work. I always believe that "If you want to

have more achievements than others, you must work harder."

In some extent, the dream is the hope. If you can insist on doing

something, the victory will come.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that

cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field

frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams.

Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today. Let's--- move
