Environmental problems are becoming more and more serious all over the

world.

For example, cars have made the air unhealthy for people to breathe and

poisonous gas is given off by factories. Trees on the hills have been cut down

and waste water is being poured continuously into rivers.Furthermore, wherever

we go today, we can find rubbish carelessly disposed. Pollution is, in fact,

threatening our existence.

The earth is our home and we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves

and for our later generations. Fortunately, more and more people have realized

these problems. Measures have been taken to cope with these problems by the

government. Laws have been passed to stop pollution. I hope the problem will be

solved in the near future and our home will become better and better.

MONEY 钱

Everybody wishes (hopes) to get money so that he can maintain his livelihood. In other words, money is so useful that it is impossible for mankind to live without it. For this reason, we have an interesting proverb. It says “Money can make the world go around.” In a word, money is more powerful than anything else.

However, money should not be wasted. It must be used for (some) proper purposes. We young men should form the good habit of not spending money in the wrong way.

我是英语L老师，我很珍惜这次跟家长们交流的机会。下面我简单介绍本班这上半学期的基本情况。

本学期开学以来，我对本班学生严格要求，大部分学生都有所进步。我班学生大都喜欢英语课堂，课堂上遵守纪律，回答问题积极，比较爱表现。总的来说，我认为我班的学生都是好孩子，遵守纪律，爱学习。只是有些小缺点。例如个别学生上课总想做些小动作，爱聊聊天，导致课堂注意力不集中，行动不够迅速。学习方面，有些学生没有学习的自觉性，不知自己预习、复习，只是等老师提醒。作业方面，大部分学生能按时完成，个别学生无法按时完成。

针对这些情况，我想向家长和同学们提些建议，希望我们能一起成长，一起进步。

1、同学们要养成自觉学习的习惯。每天在家先完成作业，写完后再做些其他有意义的活动。让学生劳逸结合，看电视玩电脑时间适度。

2、多读多思多背。英语成绩想提高，就要学“背多分”。英语不是我们的母语，不经常花心思去读读背背，很快就忘记的。你背多了，自然分数也高了。

3、同学们要对所学的知识归纳、巩固复习和提高。万丈高楼从地起，没有稳固的根基，起不了高楼。好成绩不是一两天就可以获得，必须踏踏实实学好每一天。课堂上学的知识只是一个开始，更多知识的吸收还是需要课后的努力。我个人学习经验就是除了按时完成作业还要经常回头复习巩固，尤其是把错题摘抄出来多读多练才会有进步。

4、家长要花点时间在学习上帮助孩子。在学校，大部分孩子能认真完成作业，某些孩子的作业不认真，老师会让他重写，直到写好为止。但有些孩子回家的家庭作业却不是令老师们很满意。我非常理解做父母的心情，我们白天工作，晚上要担负起教育孩子的责任。现在社会压力大，家长大都非常辛苦。但是，大家再怎么忙，也不该忘记对孩子的教育和辅导。尤其是学习不太自觉、学习习惯不太好的孩子，我们做父母的更应该付出一些时间，陪陪孩子。我想每天抽出20分钟，还是可以的。例如，在饭后和孩子聊一聊学校的情况，问一问最近的学习内容，查一查家庭作业的完成情况是否和家庭作业本上的记载内容一致、家庭作业的质量如何。督促孩子每天读课文或预习或复习。双休日有时间，可以帮助他默写单词，温故而知新。这种父母与孩子的交流是很重要的，很难得的，平时孩子在校一周，回家如果基本的交流都没有，家长以后就不要怪孩子跟你们有代沟。

5、正确对待考试成绩，不以成绩论英雄。的确，分数的多少，反映学生学习成绩的好坏，但我们更应理性地去分析冷静对待，关键是要静下心来和孩子一道认真帮助孩子查找问题，分析失分原因，督促孩子改正，使孩子不断进步。

有家长和学生反映越是高年级对英语越没有兴趣，成绩越来越差，问我怎么办?说实话，我也很难回答这种问题，但是我想说的就是同学们你们先问自己需要什么?举个例子，你们每天都吃喝拉撒吧，但你会很喜欢吗?答案肯定不会，但是你需要，你已经习惯了，所以当你明白你的需要，习惯去做一件事，你就会坚持去做。学习英语就是要长时间坚持才有效果，才会慢慢成功。如果你把学习英语获得的每一次成功，每一次好成绩当成快乐，那么你就有兴趣了。如果你不努力，每次考50、60分也没所谓，习惯这种成绩，你肯定没有成就感，肯定觉得英语难学，更不要说对它有兴趣。我们也曾经是学生，明白学习是一件辛苦的事，就像我们有些家长的工作肯定也有很辛苦的，但是不辛苦怎得世间财?学习是要靠毅力，坚持的过程。如果今天你们的辛苦可以换你明天的财富和幸福，同学们为什么不努力一把呢?

My School Day

I get up at six in the morning. Then I wash my face and brush my teeth. After a quick breakfast, I go to school in my mother's car. It takes us more than half an hour to get there.

We have four hour classes in the morning. I have luch at my grandparents', because their home is nearer to my school.

After two classes in the afternoon, school is over. Then we clean our classroom.

I get home at about half past five. We have dinner at seven. After dinner I do my homework. If I finish my homesork early, I can watch TV for half an hour. I go to bed at half past nine or ten.

five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand

today, signed the emancipation proclamation. this momentous decree came as a

great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in

the flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long

night of their captivity.

but one hundred years later, the negro still is not free. one hundred years

later, the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of

segregation and the chains of discrimination. one hundred years later, the negro

lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material

prosperity. one hundred years later, the negro is still languished in the

corners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land. and so

we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

in a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. when the

architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and

the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which

every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men, yes,

black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable rights" of

"life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." it is obvious today that america

has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are

concerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the

negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient

funds."

What a wonderful fruit the banana is, popular all over the world. Its three colors tell you how ripe it is. Green means go, as in go find another banana. Yellow means eat me. The banana is versatile. You can fry it, bake it, mash it, or eat it raw. You can slice it and put it on your breakfast cereal. At lunchtime you can snack on a raw banana, or make a peanut butter and banana sandwich, or eat a bag of dried bananas. You can add a banana to your ice cream for dessert and call it a banana split. You can order a healthful banana smoothie at your local smoothie store. On weekends you can order a banana daiquiri at your local bar or restaurant.

Here in the US, we get most of our bananas from Ecuador and Costa Rica, although the fruit reportedly originated in Asia. Bananas give us lots of potassium and vitamins A and C, and hardly any sodium. The price of bananas hasn’t changed much over recent years—they’re still about 65 cents a pound, despite rising gas and labor prices. If that’s too expensive, you can still get three pounds for a buck at many dollar stores.

在这次全市小学英语优质课比赛中，共有14节词汇课。14位教师每一位都能认真钻研教材，抓住重难点教学，努力了解学生，完成任务教学。各位老师各尽所能，各展其才，给我们带来14节优秀的课。下面，我就从三个方面对这些课做一下小小的点评：

一、对词汇课的认识

词汇课听起来好象是单纯教几个单词，但在语言教学中我们应把握这样一个原则：词不离句，句不离境。这两句话说的什么意思?就是说在教学中教单词的同时，离不开句子的教学，教语句的同时不能脱离环境的创设。在这次比赛中，我们7号老师和9号老师就做的相当不错。7号老师教授的是四种水果：pear,

orange, watermelon和peach。她利用猴子了一个cai课件创设情景，在教单词的同时，展示两个动物朋友喜不喜欢，从而引出句子:do you

like--------?yes, i do./no, i

don’t,同时让学生去扮演角色。角色扮演完后，自然过渡到调查周围同学。这样的安排给人一种水到渠成的感觉。9号老师教的是四个形容词：big,

small,long 和short。她带领我们进入了动物园：看见大象学生就扮演：hi, i’m elephant. i’m big.

看见猴子学生就扮演：hello,i’m monkey. i’m small.看见蛇学生就扮演：hello, i’m snake. i’m

long.看见小白兔学生就扮演：hi, i’m rabbit. i have a short tail…学生兴趣高，也非常积极主动去运用英语交际。

二、对词汇课课堂结构的认识

一节好的课，首先要教学思路清晰，目的明确，重难点突出。我们小学英语教学过程大致可分为以下几块：

1.warm-up 热身 让学生通过游戏、chant、歌曲等进行一个暖身，调动学生的学习兴趣。

2. preview/revision 预习或复习 可对过去的相关知识进行一下回顾展示

3. presentation and practice

主要是呈现新知，教授新知，并能利用各种教学手段和教学方法对所学知识进行巩固操练。在这14位参赛教师中，1号，4号，6号，8号，9号，10号，11号，13号等老师，她们运用了competation

、chant 、tpr 、look and match、 listen and point、 listen and draw 、guessing game和

task-based等教学方法，采取了师生操练、小组操练、生生操练等多种形式，给人一种多姿多彩的感觉。特别提出的是6号和10号老师，她们可能不是英语专业毕业的老师，但她们能充分利用空中资源，和学生一起学习，一起做游戏，共同操练，这很值得让我们去借鉴。

4. consolidation and e_tension 就是对我们所学的知识做一个总结和拓展。

这几部教学环节相辅相成，互相联系。教学时我们可以用简单的游戏、歌曲甚至是短短的几句课堂用语就能将它们自然衔接，慢慢过渡，但有很多老师常常忽视这些，使的下一个环节出现的有点突然。比赛中我认为做的比较好的有_号等老师。

三、关于课堂教学细节的处理

优秀的课堂之所以优秀，除了教学结构外，还有细节的独特处理，就如人一样，七分长相三分打扮。如1号、2号、10号老师的cai课件，4号和9号老师独特新颖的词卡，4号和13号老师漂亮的板书设计，11号和12号老师多样的评价语，13号和14号老师完整的评价体系(形成性评价与终结性评价相结合)，5号和12号老师好听的语音语调，特别是12号老师夸张的语音语调和态势语，这些都留给了我们每一个在场的老师深刻的印象。

总的说来，各位老师都能较好的完成教学任务，但是也存在不少问题，需要去改善：

1.加强自身学习，少犯知识性错误。尽量运用简短的英语，让学生听懂指令。

2.缺少对语言情境的创设，各个知识点之间出现一定的块面，如果能够一条线索贯穿起来就更加好了。

3.对学生的小组活动需加强指导，培养学生用英语交流的习惯。

4.要探究对课堂知识的拓展。

5.应注重细节的处理，如板书设计、学生座位的安排、评价语的多样化等。

今天，在王老师的组织安排下，我们聚在一起共同学习。感谢各位领导对我们工作的支持与理解，也感谢王老师为我们全市老师们和学生们在不到一年的时间里提供了多次展示自我的舞台。我相信，在王老师的领导下，我们仙桃市小学英语会有更大的进步。谢谢!

各位家长下午好，很高兴能有这样一个机会，能和大家进行面对面的交流。我是五年级的英语任课教师，我姓肖。下面我就我们英语学习方面说我一些真实的感言：

在英语课堂上，大部分学生都能很活跃的回答老师提出的问题，积极跟着老师读单词，读课文。其实这也制造了一种假象，学生认为自己常常被老师提问，认为自己能够回答老师的问题，于是认为自己的英语学得很不错，自我感觉特别好。于是下课后在英语上花的时间就少了。其实要学好英语，课上占40%，其余的60%还需要学生在课后不断的巩固，加深记忆。在课上老师更多的是教授新知识，当然课上也会有少量的时间巩固新学的知识。但是这些时间是公共的时间，而不是每个学生私有的时间，所以不可能照顾到每个学生，不可能让所有学生都达到相同的程度。况且每个学生对新知识得接受能力都是不同的，有的可能当堂就已经有很深的印象，很难忘记，但这肯定是很少的。大部分学生都只能是初步接触了新知识，要真正接受新知识还要学生在课后多下功夫，不然肯定会和别的同学拉下差距。 那么在课后学生到底该怎么做才能把其余的60%补回来呢?学好英语，不外乎就是在听、说、读、写这些方面下功夫。

首先说一下听，每个学生都有和书相配套的磁带，可是请各位家长检查一下自己的子女的英语磁带，有多少学生的磁带还是和刚发的时候一样的，根本就没有听过。光靠上课听一点点的磁带，学生的听力根本就不能有什么发展。不会听就不能说，不能说英语就白学了。每上完一次课，我都叫学生回家要跟磁带读，可是有多少学生真地做到了呢?所读的知识已经学过了，跟录音机读应该是提高自己的听力和口语表达能力，要学生尽力地去模仿录音机里的发音，从而使自己的听力和口语都提高一个层次。

接下来是说，英语学了就是要说，要和别人交流。在课上我会用各种方法来刺激学生，激发他们说英语的积极性，大多数学生也确实做得很好。可是班级里人多，对每个人来说，说的机会就少。所以下课也要说，放学回家也要说。在学校，我鼓励学生把所学的英语对话运用到生活中去，这样有更真实的情景，更能让学生有发挥的余地。在家里，希望家长也能鼓励学生说英语，也许你会说你自己也听不懂，请不要这样想，其实学生需要是你的鼓励，你听了他们说的只要简单表扬一句，他们就会很满足了。有时候你们也可以不懂装懂，或者还可以让学生反过来教你，他们会觉得很自豪，因为自己所学得派上了用场。

接下来是读。学英语要培养语感，也就是语言的感觉，如果有很好的语感，那么不管是说话，做题目，都很轻松，很简单了。那么语感怎么来呢?就是靠读出来的。一定要让学生养成每天读英语的习惯。如果你的子女还没有养成这样的学习习惯，请你一定要督促他，刚开始也许会比较难，时间久了，就会习惯成自然。就像早上起来要刷牙洗脸一样，要让他们把读英语当作每天必做的一件事。

最后是写。五年级英语已经对学生有一定的书写要求。背单词是学英语的必经之路。单词往往背过就容易会忘记，所以要不断的背，不断的翻新，这是没有办法的。我要求学生在背单词的时候要边拼边写，嘴巴和手都要动起来，嘴上十遍不如手上一遍。还有句型，五年级所接触的巨型都是很简单的日常用语。学生应该在课上领会句型的意思和运用方法。可后还需要通过多读课文，多练习才能巩固所学的句型。所以请各位家长不光要注重孩子背单词的情况，还要让他重视句子的重要性。

总而言之，请各位家长多关注孩子们的英语学习，让孩子养成良好的英语学习习惯。家长的重视会让学生增加信心，提高学生的学习积极性。与其在期末时看到大家都不愿看到的不理想的分数，还不如在平时就多关心孩子学习的过程。还希望家校携手共同提高孩子们的英语学习水平。我要讲的就是这些，谢谢!
