A broken mirror joined together

During the chaos of war, the princess lost touch with her husband was taken to a powerful minister Yang Su's house and was made his mistress.

At the Lantern Festival the next year, Xu Deyan took his half of the mirror to the fair. He hoped that he could meet his wife. It so happened that a servant was selling the other half of the bronze mirror. Xu Deyan recognized it immediately. He asked the servant about his wife. As he heard about her bitter experience, tears rolled down his cheeks. Xu Deyan wrote a poem on the half of the mirror kept by his wife: "You left me with your broken mirror Now the mirror is back but not you I can no longer see your reflection in the mirror Only the bright moon but not you" .

my hallucinations, coupled with my physical problems, made my prognosis still very bleak. however, as time passed my mind began to clear and approximately six weeks later my right leg began to move ever so slightly. within seven weeks my right arm slowly began to move and at eight weeks i uttered my first few words. my speech was extremely difficult and slow in the beginning, but at least it was a beginning. i was starting to look forward to each new day to see how far i would progress. but just as i thought my life was finally looking brighter i was tested by the hospital euro-psychologist. she explained to me that judging from my test results she believed that i should not focus on returning to college but that it would be better to set more "realistic goals."

on may 24, 1987, i realized that nothing could ever match the joy i felt as sharon and i were married. sharon, my high school sweetheart of nine years, had always stood by me, through good and bad times. to me, sharon is my miracle, my diamond in a world filled with problems, hurt, and pain. it was sharon who dropped out of school when i was hurt so that she could constantly be at my side. she never wavered or gave up on me. it was her faith and love that pulled me through so many dark days. while other nineteen year old girls were going to parties and enjoying life, sharon devoted her life to my recovery. that, to me, is the true definition of love. after our beautiful wedding i continued working part time at the pain center and completed my work for a masters degree. we were extremely happy, but even happier when we learned sharon was pregnant.

on july 11, 1990 at 12:15 a.m. sharon woke me with the news: "we need to go to the hospital… my water just broke." i couldn't help but think how ironic it was that my life almost ended in a convenience store and now on the date "7-11" we were about to bring a new life into this world. this time it was my turn to help sharon as she had helped me over those past years. she was in labor for 15 hours. at 3:10 p.m. sharon and i experienced the birth of our beautiful daughter, shawn elyse segal! tears of joy and happiness came to my eyes as our healthy, alert, wonderful daughter entered this world. we anxiously counted her 10 fingers and her 10 toes and watched her wide eyes take in the world about her. it was truly a beautiful picture that was etched in my mind forever as she lie in her mother's waiting arms, just minutes after her birth. at that moment i thanked god for blessing us with the greatest miracle of all-shawn elyse segal.

I am a small river

I am Baohe River , a happy river . I have many friends :animals ,trees , and lovely children . Everyday we play together . Children swim. The animals sing . All of us are very happy and we are never tired .

But one day , a big factory was built near my body . The birds and the fish had to move their houses , because of the dirty water and heavy smoke. My friends went away. I was so sad.

Some years later. People woke up. They began to know that clean water is so important. Little by little , I found I was clean again . Now the water is clean and green . The air is fresh ,too . As we all know, a friend in need is a friend indeed. A harmonious friendship is as necessary as the air around us. Friends bring the distance between people nearer. Friends encourage us to cheer up when we face failure or distress. All in all, friendship is an indispensable part of our life.

Owing to the importance of harmonious relationships, we should think about how we can do to improve our friendships. I think that the quality of generosity is what good friends need. What else? Smiles, like food, can bring warmth to others. The reason why smiles have such a large effect is that they demonstrate our friendliness.

When you are so angry that you are out of control, please calm down and don’t let your anger do any harm.

We all know a story similar to this: Two Men and a Bear. In the forest, when a bear attacked them, the thinner man quickly climbed up to the top of a tree and forgot his promise to the fatter guy, who could not climb the tree, about helping each other when in danger. Luckily, the fatter man saved himself. The fatter mat was very disappointed, and when they got together again, he said to the thinner man, "You are not my real friend. I would like to tell you something about myself, my true feel-ings. When I was in Senior One, I had great difficulty in learning science subjects. I was unable to understand the teacher and 1 could not do the exercises or the homework. I believed that I was stupid and could not learn anything. The sky was gray and the grass was yellow those days. Everything was a mess in my brain. My classmate, a good student, whom I only considered as one of the classmates before, came to me with a smile. She told me that if I needed help, she would like to help me. As she was also very busy with her studies,I asked myself, "Could she help me? "Sev-eral days later, I knew the answer. Yes, she could. She did as much as she could. She made time every day to help me solve the problems and showed me many good ways to study science. Her patience and earnest nature touched me deeply. I worked very hard and my progress was reflected in my examination result. I appreciated her help very much and wanted to thank her. When I looked at her, once again she smiled at me with an encouraging and congratulatory look. At that moment I understood that a true friend should be like this.

people are proud of having a good friend. true friendship must be sincere and

must not have conditions. if you help your friends for no reason but simply

yourself. this is true friends.

True friendship should be based on mutual understanding, not on mutual

benefit. moreover, both must also have similar ideals. if not, their friendship

still cannot last long. sometimes, people have good friends when they are young

and studying in school. however, after graduation, when they are working in the

society, their friendship will soon come to an end.

Mutual understanding doesn’t always mean that we should know every thing of

our friends. it means that they have similar ideals and trust each other. on the

other hand, doing similar things can build up the friendship.

In fact, friendship isn’t always easily kept. when you want to keep a

friend, you should treat him or her like you want to be treated. keep the

secrets that your friend tells you. keep your promise with your friend. share

things with your friend. stick up for your friend. we should try our best to

protect the friendship from being hurt. as an old saying goes, “friendship

cannot stand always on one side.” true friendship should be able to stand all
