nature. any mistreatment towards nature will meet only with the revenge from

her.

by saying so, i do not mean we should give a sudden stop to any

development. because that will result in a threat to the existence of human

society. i mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence

and development to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will

get the situation of win-win.

i am very pleased to find that now more and more people, from every corner

of the planet, have come to realize that harmony with nature is the only way to

universal and continuous progress and prosperity. and i think that is why we

come here from all over the country to discuss this topic today.

i want to end my speech by quoting from mr. nixon. "our destiny offers, not

the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity." the future is not ours to

see of course. however, by seizing firmly the opportunities, by knowing clearly

about ourselves, we, human beings, can doubtlessly achieve the real harmony with

nature!

Throughout history man has changed his physical environment in order to

improve his way of life。 With the tools of technology he has altered many

physical features of the earth。 He has transformed woodlands and prairies into

farms and made lakes and reserviors out of rivers for irrigation purposes or

hydroelectric power。 Man has also modified the face of the earth by draining

marshes and cutting through mountains to build roads and railways。

However， man's changes to the physical environment have not always had

beneficial results。 Today， pollution of the air and water is an increasing

danger to the health of the planet。 Each day thousands of tons of gases e out of

the exhausts of motor vehicles。 Smoke from factories pollutes the air of

industrialized areas and the surrounding areas of the countryside。 The pollution

of water is equally harmful。 The whole ecological balance of the sea is being

changed and industrial wastes have already made many rivers lifeless。

Now environmental protection is more pressing than ever before。 As we know，

massive destruction of environment has brought about negative effects and even

poses a great threat to man's existence。 Indifference to these problems will

mean mitting suicide。 Therefore， effective measures should be taken and laws

passed to conserve environment。 Otherwise，man is certain to suffer from the

serious consequences caused by this lack of care for his living

surroundings。

we all know tagore.this famous indian poet once said, “life is given to us,

and we earn it by giving it.” as the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we

earn it by contributing to it. however, most people nowadays just want to ask

for more from the nature. in fact, they do very little contribution to the

nature. therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.

do you often use batteries? then do you know it takes 50 times more energy

to make them than they produce? and just one simple battery can pollute as much

water as a person can drink in his whole life. the facts and figures are

amazing. so would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? if

possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be

made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more.

sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in

terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become

much clearer about the problem.

we, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect

the environment. for example, our class set up a recycling center beside the

back door, it is very useful. it is used to collect the waste paper and plastic

bottles. in the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the

trashcan. at the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so

warm-welcomed. later, more and more people were influenced by the others and

joined this collecting activity. gradually, all the students in our class form a

good habit to protect the environment. all of us will now put away the reusable

things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.we should always remember in

our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect.

finally would you please let me end this speech with a little poem, “be kind to

the river. be good to the trees. smile at the sunshine, and bow to the breeze.

traveling, home-heating, and so on. In order to promote a low-carbon life, some

plans must be carried out as follows. Firstly, don’t waste any electricity and

water. Remember to turn off the lights and water taps unless we use them.

Secondly, we had better take the subways or bus to work, so as to reduce the

emissions of carbon dioxide. Thirdly, we should use cloth bags for shopping

instead of plastic bags, and use recyclable bowls and chopsticks instead of

disposable ones, for it can not only save resources, but also reduce pollution.

What’s more, it is of great significance to plant more trees, since trees can

balance the carbon dioxide emissions.

As you know,there's no enough clean water for people. So many of them lose

their lives because of water. In a lot of countries, people have to cut trees

for living. So there's nothing to keep water from running away. Also we have

polluted the land, the river and the air. So we have to face more and more

floods and droughts .

It's time that we must do something useful to protect our environment. We

can plant trees and take good care of them. We can save the water and ask our

parents to do so. We can't throw any litter onto the ground and we should

collect them for recycling.

In this day and age, environmental

degradation presents great danger to the public. People in my country, and other

places, have to bear polluted water and haze day after day. As public awareness

of the need for environmental protection grows in these countries, it is urgent

to learn how to establish a green life style.

To achieve a green life style, we must adjust our behavior. This can be

done even with simple things. For example, we could sort out our trash for

better recycling. At home, we can use lights and other electricity only when

needed. We should properly maintain air conditioners twice a year so they will

run efficiently, and, even more importantly, make sure doors and windows fit

properly and are sealed so that we can use less energy in heating and cooling.

Other simple steps that make a big difference include using public

transportation instead of driving private cars.

Commuters can choose to take buses, subways or share cars with others,

which not only relieves traffic jams but also reduces gas emission.

In my mind, it is high time to establish a general concept of sustainable

development and green life style in China. The Earth has provided humans what

they need; it is time to pay back. Only through a green life, can we ensure that

we and our children live in an environment with green water and mountains,

without traffic jams, and in an era with better living habits.

Our environment is very important for our lives . We need the fresh air,

the clean water and so on . In the past, there were many trees around us ,the

air was fresh and the river was clean.But now,people cut down many trees. Air

pollution and water polloution are very serious . The environment around us

becomes very terrible . We should protect our environment. First, we should

plant many trees to keep water. Second , we can ride a bike or walk to the

school and work.. Third , we shouldn’t throw the dirty water into the river .

Fourth, we shouldn’t use the plastic bags. Finally, we can ask more people to

join us.

As time goes by, man is making the earth sick. People cut down too many

trees and leave rubbish everywhere. Factories let out their waste without doing

anying to it . This has cause some serious problems. Such as the land is sandy,

the river is dirty, the air is less clean, even the temperature of the earth is

rising. What should we do to save the earth ? My suggestion is that we should

plant more trees, put rubbish into dusbins and stop factories pouring waste

directly into the air or rivers. In all, we have only one earth, we should do

our best to protect it, or we will regret.

How to Sell Yourself

In this competitive society it is essential to know how to sell yourself in

order to get the job you want. That means you must be able to market your best

features and present yourself in the best light. After all, you never get a

second chance to make a first impression.

There are several things you can do to project a good image in an

interview. First of all, look like a winner. Dress conservatively and well, and

you'll look like you're going to the top. Second, communicate clearly. Consider

each question carefully and respond with total honesty. Remember to make eye

contact and maintain good posture. You need to look attentive but also at ease.

Third, have a positive and assertive attitude. It's important to appear

confident of your ability and optimistic about your future. Finally, be

prepared. Present a professional resume and be ready to explain everything in

detail.

By following the advice above, you are bound to make a good impression on

potential employers. Then you will be able to choose the best opportunity for

How to protect the environment?

Nowadays， more and more people realize it`s necessary and important to

protect the environment。 Also，there are some people who don`t pay attention to

hygiene and they can`t stop littering the rubbish casually or spitting

everywhere all the time。And in addition， there are a few factories often cutting

down the trees， discharging chemicals and dirty water and so on。And it causes

many problems like the Greenhouse Effect。If they do these day by day and our

life will be harder and harder，so we have to stop them。 To stop them we can put

up monweal advertisements and tell them the detriment of destroying the

environment。So we can start from now to make a beautiful life。

Protect Our Environment It is important to beal with the rubbish in cities.

Our world was colorful,beautiful and full of life. But these years, people have

built many factories along rivers. Many trees have been cut down. Many animals

have lost their homes. Factories cause pollution. Rivers become polluted. As a

student, you should do every things in your everyday life to protect them.

First, stop wasting more water. Second, throw waste things into different

dustbins. For example, waste paper should be throw into paper recyclable bins.

Third, stop cutting down trees. Instead, plant more. Fourth, pick up garbage in

the park or on the road when we are free. Last, call on more and more people to

pay attention to contrlling pollution. In a word, everybody has his duty to

protect the world.

Environmental problems are becoming more and more serious all over the

world. For example, cars have made the air unhealthy for people to breathe and

poisonous gas is given off by factories. Trees on the hills have been cut down

and waste water is being poured continuously into rivers.Furthermore, wherever

we go today, we can find rubbish carelessly disposed. Pollution is, in fact,

threatening our existence.

The earth is our home and we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves

and for our later generations. Fortunately, more and more people have realized

these problems. Measures have been taken to cope with these problems by the

government. Laws have been passed to stop pollution. I hope the problem will be

solved in the near future and our home will become better and better.

Garbage is divided into four categories: Garbag that can not be recovered

and used. Kitchen husk，leaves，leftovers ，etc. collected with green plastic

containers.Waste that can be recovered and used. Paper，plastic，glass，fabric and

metal，etc.，are collected in blue plastic containers.Toxic and hazardous waste.

Scrap batteries，expired medicines，paint buckets，mercury thermometers，fluorescent

tubes and household chemicals，etc.are collected in red plastic containers.Other

rubbish，collected in gray or yellow plastic containers.
