We are using up our natural resources and at the same time polluting our

environment with dangerous chemicals. If we continue to do this, life on earth

cannot survive.

Still more measures should be taken to solve environmental problems. People

In modern society， we tend to bee more and more aware of our living

environment or physical environment， because we are not clean as before。 So many

people now choose their house as to its environment but not its location and

It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggest

concern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of water

loss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and

lakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably no

exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment

threatens the existence of mankind itself.

Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price

we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument

is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if people’s lives are

adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?

There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can be

achieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. The

key to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the problem.

With the development of our society, energy in the world becomes more and

more limited, so it is quite important for us to save energy and to protect our

environment. As a student, there are a lot of methods we can do to save energy

at home. For example, first, we can turn off the light as well as other

become waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants to

use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken

increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When

they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the
