语言能力

语言能力是学生申请韩国留学时主要的考核内容,也是重要的之一。如果学生语言成绩不合格,在韩国留学时,很难了解教师授课内容,进而影响学生的学习。因此韩国院校通常要求学生韩语水平应达到T

For a long time now I have been interested in the subject of psychology.

The way people behave and why they do certain things has always fascinated me

and after thoroughly enjoying studying the subject at A level I would like to

continue to further my knowledge and study psychology at a higher level.

The A levels I currently study include maths statistics and Philosophy and

ethics. Maths statistics will be advantageous to me whilst studying degree level

psychology, especially when studying area's such as research methods. Studying

Philosophy and ethics also has its advantages in psychology, especially when

covering the ethical issues raised when conducting psychological experiments. I

recently attended a Maths masterclass at Newcastle University which has given me

an insight into what university life will be like, and has further reassured me

that attending university is the right decision for me.

I am part of the peer mentoring team at school. This is an anonymous

service where the pupils at school can email us with their problems and I get

great satisfaction from knowing that I have helped people. Working with a range

of different people and problems has helped me to gain insight into how people

work and I am eager to learn more about the easiest and most efficient ways of

dealing with these problems. It has helped to develop my communication skills,

through dealing with a range of different people. This experience has helped me

to decide that I would particularly like to study psychology with counselling,

as I feel that I would thoroughly enjoy the challenge and the satisfaction

gained from a career in this area.

I recently completed a week of work experience at the local playgroup where

I worked with children aged 2-4. This enabled me to witness firsthand some of

the issues covered in the day care section of the attachment module in AS

psychology, particularly the way in which children develop socially. I

thoroughly enjoyed working with these children and was delighted when the leader

of the playgroup asked me to return to do voluntary work during my free

mornings. I now currently assist the children with ICT skills one morning a

week. Additionally I am currently organising voluntary work at a local care home

for the elderly as I believe working with people from a range of age groups will

be beneficial.

My part time job at McDonalds where I work 18-25 hours a week has helped to

build my confidence and my communication skills as I am constantly in contact

with customers and colleagues. It has also helped me to develop my time

management skills as I have always kept up to date with my school work. It also

developed my ability to work quickly and efficiently when under pressure, and I

believe that I have the ability to successfully multi-task.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends. I regularly attend

music concerts and go to the cinema with them. I am a member at the local

leisure centre where I often go to the gym and occasionally go swimming to keep

myself fit.

I am looking forward to beginning the challenge of university life. It is

an exciting opportunity and I believe that studying a course in Psychology with

Counselling is the first step towards my chosen future career as a Counselling

Psychologist.

As I have come through life, I found out that even though I enjoyed various

jobs I took, the best of them all is the one the heart is sat on. Until recently

I would have only dreamed to study within the Art and Design industry.

So here I am keen to change that.

Unfortunately my early hopes of becoming an architect, thirteen years ago,

where shattered due to some unpredicted changes in my life such as financial

issues, frequent changes in location, two kiddies, etc. Certain constraints

diverted my path towards administration, then very subtly accountancy took over

and yet again, back into administration. I even went ahead and studied about

them as these choices seemed quicker to achieve and more rewarding financially.

Now, it beats me why? Therefore a few months ago I sat down and thought over,

realistically, that I’m at the point and the age where I need to decide what

feels right for me, what is my direction from now on and will Art and Design

remain only an unachievable dream?

Although as a teenager I started preparing for architecture through time my

choice took shape towards product design because I find it closer to my

aspiration and my guts. It feels the right choice for me; it feels just like a

home buyer finds his perfect home, that would foster him for a very long time or

like the parent that goes straight to his child at the end of the school

day.

Sadly enough for me I have never taken an official preparatory course in

Art and Design, but lately I’ve organised my time to do some reading (studying a

series of relevant books either purchased or borrowed from libraries), drawing

(started building my portfolio), self tuition of computer software (3D Max and

Photoshop) and took guidance from specialised people (mostly my relatives as mom

is a sculptor/painter, father designer – furniture and interior, brother-in-law

graphics and web designer) to catch up a bit of the lost time. Since I’m not in

my teen ages and considering the responsibilities around motherhood, I trust my

abilities to embark straight into an university course. And even though it might

seem a bit late and too hard to go through the process of starting a new career,

I’m willing to give my best as I feel as enthusiastic as a teenager.

What I can bring to this field is whatever skills I gained through work

(although I realise it’s not all directly relevant to this industry), my mature

and responsible thinking, my organised, my creative and meticulous character, my

talent in art, then hoping to mix them with the right education to get the

formula that makes a person feel accomplished and a job well done. This is why

for me the completion of this course is fundamental.

Although I have other responsibilities now, in my spare time music serves

me as a particularly rewarding hobby, then playing guitar, arts and crafts and

reading.

Within Product Design section I would probably focus more on the furniture

design and developing new objects that make life simpler using minimum and

environmental friendly materials and who knows what else ”the possibilities are

endless” as some might say.

No matter where I’ll study I know my choice will lead me towards my

goal.

my ambition of becoming a successful lawyer. My choice in social sciences such

as Geography and Modern Studies has also taught me how to adopt a more logical

approach to factual situations and other competences such as improving my

knowledge of modern society and international political affairs that trouble the

modern world.

To complement my academic interests I engage in a variety of

extracurricular activities. I am involved in the school debating society. The

experience has taught me to use my own initiative in writing speeches and

developed my skills of public speaking and diplomacy. I am also involved in the

production of the school newspaper as I enjoy writing articles about major

issues in society such as international social issues. One of my main hobbies is

organising events within my Muslim cultural community as I enjoy the

responsibility as well as working alongside friends. My ability to motivate

Changing the bandage on an angry bulldog’s paw or trimming the hooves of a

2000-pound draft horse can be an intimidating venture. Curing animals requires

compassion, precision, and confidence; it is also an excellent way to learn

about practicing medicine and to feel the satisfaction of helping someone in

need. Due to my rural background, knowledge of animals, and love of science, I

began working for a local veterinarian at a young age. Later in life, when I

decided to become a physician, I saw that my veterinary experiences had prepared

me well for a career in health care.

When I started volunteering in an emergency room, I learned that humans

really aren't so different from other animals -- I needed to show my compassion

in order to earn their trust before I could heal or comfort them. When a child

or widow brought me their dying pet and pleaded for me to cure it, I had to

soothe the person as well as the animal. I used this calm compassion in the

emergency room when comforting the family of a father who had just suffered a

heart attack, or when talking with a husband frantic about his wife’s car

accident. I saw further similarities between human and animal medicine when I

shadowed Dr. Harry Williams in his family practice. I saw that his close

relationship with his patients led him to keep thinking of them long after his

office closed for the day. Likewise, as a veterinary technician, I had often

carefully considered how to help each animal. Compassion is truly a prerequisite

for any career in health care.

In my work with animals, I learned that perseverance is key to successful

treatment. Interruption of that treatment can lead to disastrous results. In

many rural communities near my home, I witnessed the consequences of the absence

of consistent medical care. As a farrier, I have worked in many old-order

Mennonite communities whose needs aren’t being met: when one client's daughter

injured her hand in a corn sheller, she was unable to get medical care because

facilities were far away and no doctors could come to their farm. The girl’s

hand was infected and not healing well. I did what I could, but I was troubled

that I didn’t have the expertise to treat the injury. On my next visit, I saw

that her hand had grown deformed. Had she been able to see a physician more

frequently, her hand might have healed correctly. Encounters of this kind have

revealed to me the consequences of medically underserved communities. I look

forward to working toward a solution to this problem when I am a physician.

A good veterinarian operates with precision. I have applied the careful,

exacting skills I learned with animals to my lab work. I am currently involved

in research on corneal endothelium with Dr. Carson Kennedy. In the lab, we study

mammalian corneal cells; eventually, we would like to describe and prevent

ophthalmic diseases such as glaucoma. Through this work, I have honed my

scientific skills and sharpened my analytical mind. It is exhilarating to catch

a glimpse of valuable knowledge, not yet known by anyone, which has the

potential to help many people. It is also very rewarding to know that I have

contributed to the advancement of medicine by providing research results that

will improve people’s health.

Perhaps the most important quality required to practice human or animal

medicine is confidence. In the lab, in the emergency room, and in the field, I

have had many opportunities to observe the importance of confident leadership to

a medical practice. Over the years, I have observed that the best veterinarians

and physicians handle each issue swiftly and appropriately, delegating tasks to

others with self-assurance. In every medical situation, someone must take the

lead role while working to manage the team. Leadership roles have always come

naturally to me -- I spent twelve years working toward becoming an Eagle Scout

and helping my younger brother to do the same. The composure I gained as a troop

leader helped me to excel in my role as supervisor at a large walking horse

farm. Since then, I have grown into leadership roles that required more

significant responsibilities. I am comfortable as a leader because I am

confident in my ability to ensure the health and safety of others. The

leadership skills I have developed will be a vital part of my work as a

physician.

When I began working as a veterinary technician, I did not fully realize

that the skills I gained would be so applicable to my eventual career as a

physician. Yet my experiences with animals have provided me with an excellent

foundation to continue my studies of human health and well-being. I am eager to

develop the medical knowledge I have gained thus far in order to become the kind

of physician my community will be able to rely on.

In China as in the US, one can easily give up the career of a language

teacher to become a lawyer or a businessman. I, however, gave up a promising

legal and business career to become a language teacher, but I have never

regretted it. In fact, the more I teach, the more committed I am to teaching.

But not just teaching. Having battled with China’s traditional mode of teaching

for several years, I now would like to help improve teaching in China by

introducing new and more effective instructional technology and media into the

country. For that, I would like to pursue an advanced degree in education in

your country.

Now an English teacher at the training center of the China National

Container Corporation, I graduated in 1995 from the Capital University of

Economics and Business in Beijing, where I majored in business law. At this

highly respected higher-learning institution, I received broad training that was

both rigorous and vigorous. After four years of undergraduate studies, the

strong logic inherent in law translated into strong logic in my thinking. With

the knowledge and skills I attained in the law program, I boast the kind of

intellectual maturity that would help me whatever I do. But law was never my

first choice for a profession.

Starting from my high school days, I always dreamed of becoming a teacher.

In the second year of high school, we once had to write an essay on the topic

“what do you want to do when you grow up”. I proudly wrote, “I want to be a

teacher!” But my parents shattered my dream by insisting that I pursue another

profession. My father, an engineer with a Ph. D. degree, and my mother, a

university teacher of English, had their reasons. Chinese teachers, particularly

those teaching at the primary and secondary levels, are poorly paid and

begrudgingly respected. Being young and inexperienced in the world, I acceded to

their wishes when I was choosing my major for the university.

But my passion for teaching was not to be stifled forever. Giver any

opportunity, it would burst out. Upon graduation with an LL. B. Degree, I first

took up the position of a supervisor with the China National Container

Corporation in charge of its Overseas Sales Department. As the job entailed

frequent translation and interpretation between Chinese and English, I persisted

in improving my English proficiency by attending various training courses and

learning it on my own. My command of the foreign tongue became so good that,

after about one year, I began to teach it to my colleagues on a full-time basis

at the company’s training center. After a huge detour, my career finally got

back on track.

What makes teaching so enjoyable to me is that it is a learning experience.

I enjoy it the most when my students ask difficult questions, particularly

questions that I have to think long and hard to answer. I also enjoy posing

questions to students, but my questions are never intended to intimidate the

students or even test their knowledge but rather designed to stimulate their

minds. In the constant exchange of questions and answers, students and teachers

improve themselves alike to the credit of the old Chinese saying: To teach is to

learn. In my three years of teaching, I really have learned a great deal.

One of the things I have learned is the ability to not only deal with but

also strike an accord with people of different backgrounds. My students at the

training center are all adults accomplished in a variety of roles and

professions. In most cases, they are older than I am. While I stand as their

equals, I have served as their mentors and role models the same way as most

teachers do their students. By so doing, I have won their trust and confidence

in what I teach, which has helped to make my teaching powerful and

effective.

To take full advantage of my teaching skills, I started in October 1996 to

teach English and other subjects at the primary school I attended when I was a

child. As the children I teach are at the age when I studied here, I am

particularly sensitive to their needs and appreciative of their potential.

Together with other teachers, I designed various training programs in

calligraphy, art, writing, mental calculation, and English, programs that

combine learning with entertainment. The kids n my class are now learning more

and faster thanks to the fun they find everyday in my programs.

Entertainment is, however, by no means just a ploy I use to sweeten the

bitter pill of learning for the children, but rather has its own intrinsic

value. While kids can hardly learn well without being able to have fun, the lack

of fun hurts more than the kids’ ability to learn. It can impair the kids’

emotional and psychological health to an extent that no amount of knowledge and

skills drab teaching force-feeds into them can make up. Entertainment is

therefore part and parcel of what we teachers have to provide to children if we

are to help them grow up into productive members of the society. The way I see

entertainment, it should be considered an end in education.

As China’s education is oriented overwhelmingly towards helping kids pass

exams, entertainment is about the least on the mind of an average teacher or

principal. In the rush to produce super kids as measured by the grades out of

exams, the purpose of education is lost all too often. The curriculum is limited

to subjects covered by mandatory exams. Students are seldom encouraged to come

up with original ideas. Interaction between teachers and students is kept at a

minimum in the classroom. The teachers compete to heap homework on the students,

as do the parents. While everybody is tired to death, few kids get armed with

the ability to take initiatives or solve real-world problems. It is high time

that fresh approaches were brought in.

One of the ways to make a change to the Chinese classroom is to utilize new

technologies and media of teaching. School authorities in China, as those

elsewhere, increasingly realize the importance of computerization, and many of

the better-off schools in China are already stacked with state-of-the-art

computers. But reports say only a tiny fraction of those computers are

adequately utilized. The situation with other educational technologies and media

is no better. They are either absent from the school sitting or vastly

under-used. Few Chinese teachers have acquired the know-how or the drive to make

use of these modern facilities.

I therefore would like to pursue first a master’s degree and then a Ph. D.

degree in instructional technology and media in the United States, where the use

of modern educational facilities is undoubtedly the most advanced in the world.

Judging by the information I have culled from your, website I think your

institution is an American leader in the research and studies of this field. I

am anxious to study under the seasoned guidance of your distinguished faculty. I

hope that, after I complete my advanced training in your program, I can be a

much more effective teacher in China, one that sets an example for all other

Chinese teachers.

What is life, but an endless chain of riddles? Actually, I believe the

chain stretches far beyond any living creature's lifespan, beyond words and

imagination. As we progress, we find ourselves facing the most curious of

questions. But whilst curiosity is one of the main traits of human beings, its

power and influence are often overwhelmed by our defense mechanisms. Thus some

questions, the most vital to us at the moment, might find their solutions.

Others, however, might not. It is up to us to decide whether we are willing to

stop on one place for a while, or continue our journey only in hopes of

stumbling upon the same situation later on. One thing is certain - no matter the

choice, once faced with a riddle, a person is likely to remain haunted by it

until the end of their lives. If anyone argued with me on that manner, I would

gladly say that what we see or even perceive is no more than a tenth of what we

carry inside. A constant search for the truth may not be on everyone's agenda,

but the need for it is carved somewhere deeper than we may ever reach.

This place, precisely this depth behind all masks, behind the make-up and

the body-vessels we belong to, is what enthralls me and leaves me hanging

breathless upon the outlines of my own Path. I would gladly give away a kingdom

for the sake of unlocking the secret to even one heart. What is more, I would

give my life with all the devotion I am capable of.

I believe the art of Psychology is what specializes in the quest for hidden

passages and keys to the most stubborn of locks. I call it art, for it touches

the soul no less than the greatest of piano concerts or the most beautiful of

poems. It is able to ignite life, where its colours had slowly faded, to plant

with hopes and beliefs for the future. Last but not of least importance, to me,

it is a source of inspiration. And I am a person who would rather live through

one inspiring year than a century of empty ones. So, to put it briefly, it turns

out that I and Psychology have a two-sided relationship - I would devote my

entire being to it, but I need it in my life so that I can sustain this certain

being worth devoting.

Choosing to walk down such a Path in life is not something that occurred to

me yesterday or the day before. Honestly, I cannot even remember where the roots

of this dream of mine may lie. What I do know is, that taking Philosophy and

Psychology classes at my high school made me realize that everything that had

intrigued me so greatly in the past could be turned into a profession. Helping

people to help themselves, searching together with them for the little lost

pieces of the puzzle, this is what I define as my calling. By this I mean giving

guidance and offering support to the person in question, but in just the right

portions, so that they can continue their journey independently and more

motivated than ever before.

Psychology is what opens the doors towards ever so many human beings with

their fates. A diversity to be truly thankful for, and what is more, a diversity

I would like to study thoroughly. Because I, as Jack Kerouac, have found this

simple truth: "The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to

live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time".

But here I shall add... Aren't we all?

Ever since I have had the ability to understand it, I have been fascinated

by the English language. As a child, I would either be writing, reading or

telling stories and ever sine then, have read a wide variety of both fiction and

non-fiction texts from a variety of genres and eras.

This passion for language has led me to many different extra-curricular

activities. For the past four years, I have attended a Youth Theatre each week

where we concentrate very much on both improvised and scripted drama but also

have done work on stage management, stage make-up, singing, and signed singing

(an interest which begun with my learning of both violin and double bass to

grade 4 standard).

With this same organisation, I have volunteered for the past three years at

one of the children’s groups where I work helping with drama, music and art. It

was with this same organisation that I decided to learn Sign Language.I have

recently gained my British Sign Language Level 1 certificate and am now

beginning a Level 2 course. I began learning Sign Language at the same time as

starting my A-Level in English Language and Literature, a course I have found

extremely interesting. Taking these two courses concurrently was very exciting

for me as learning more about the linguistics of the English Language enabled me

to make comparisons between the two languages.

These interests have led me to this course which I not only feel suits my

needs and interests aptly, but also excites me in its course content. Although

I’ve enjoyed all of my A-Level English Language and Literature course but have

found a few parts of it particularly interesting. I specifically enjoyed our

coursework tasks for our AS Level as it included writing a piece of original

fiction, an aspect of English which I have always enjoyed. I also enjoyed the

task of performing a monologue as I have missed not being able to study drama as

a subject.

I try to follow my interests outside of school and so attend a wide variety

of theatre productions, art exhibitions, musical performances and subject

related lectures. When studying psychology last year, I attended a large

psychology conference with a variety of speakers which was both helpful and

interesting. Last year I also attended an ‘art master class’ organised with

Middlesex University and with nine other students, it gave more opportunity for

more detailed and involved discussions. I have not yet had the opportunity to

attend an English related lecture but look forward to a study day in March which

will aid me with my study of Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra.

Alongside this and my voluntary work with the drama organisation, I have

worked in a variety of jobs which have all helped to develop my sense of

responsibility as they were dependent on both teamwork and co-operation but also

my use of initiative.I have chosen to defer my entry to 2005 as I plan to

complete a voluntary teaching placement in Africa. The prospect of this

placement excites me as it will give me the opportunity to travel, to meet new

people, to experience new cultures, and, above all, help out where much help is

needed. I feel that taking a gap year is going to benefit me greatly as it will

enable me to gain valuable life skills that will benefit me both at university

but also in whatever I choose to do following university whether it be a

postgraduate course or work.

My main aim of studying is to be more knowledgeable in software, hardware

and networks and eventually work my way up the ladder to see me through to

postgraduate which definitely means I am more respectable and more marketable.

After successfully joining university what will drive me is my passion and that

my family will look forward to having their son getting the opportunity to be

what he wants to be. According to me there is no room for failure and my

destination is getting a PhD which is going to make a role model for my future

children and my siblings.

To make me blend in with the new hard task I have prepared to make a

timetable to effectively manage my time since am a fun of sports namely going to

俄罗斯是众多欧美国家中,少数几个接受中国学生就读临床医学的国家。口腔科、血液科、外科等临床医学科系全部招收中国学生。

世界闻名的巴普洛夫医学院也同样招收中国学生。在俄罗斯的医学学校毕业后,可以获得行医资格证书,全世界认可,学生可以去全世界就业开设诊所行医。

6、绘画专业

俄罗斯的艺术专业世界闻名,世界四大美院之一的列宾美院对于中国生,全部专业都开放申请。中国普通高中毕业学生,或者中央美术学院附中毕业的学生,均可以申请列宾美院。除了美院以外,学生还可以申请俄罗斯的师范类大学。
