I can remember my childhood, playing in the garden and exploring why worms

come out when it rained. With the help of my ever growing passion for learning,

I have found my way into the world of biology. My parents love education and

applied it on both of their children, even at the early stages in their lives. I

can clearly remember my mother explaining David Attenborough's 'Life on earth'

for me while I was watching it with wonder. Nature has always been an

inspiration to me.

I am especially interested in genetics, in particular, the complicated

world of DNA. It is not only chromosomes which fascinate me, but also how

fantastically human body works. What's more, the relations between all living

creatures, from the tiniest bacteria to the biggest ecosystems, make me believe

how complex the world can be.

I have always longed to discover the unknown. That leads me to explore

everything I confront. No matter how simple something looks to others, I would

like to discover it myself. I would rather get my hands dirty than just sit back

and see what others are doing.

I have also studied mathematics in high school. It really gave me the

chance to learn variety of ways for solving problems. Beside mathematics, I

maintained my close contact with biology and used different books as my

references like 'Science of Biology' by P. Weisz and R. Keogh. I have always

enjoyed presentations by Professor Richard Dawkins. When I was younger, I made

use of 'Kingfisher Encyclopedia' very often. I also like physics and have read

some parts of Halliday's physics.

One thing which I am very good at is having presentations and conferences.

I think after making so many speeches and presentations, I have no problem

speaking in front of others. I always try to organize them in a way that

everybody can learn something. Most of the presentations I have had in school

were about biology.

In addition to learning, I teach English in some language institutes.

Teaching from early ages has taught me lots of things which have been very

helpful for my everyday social life.

Although I don't talk much, I am not shy at all. I prefer listening to

others and learn something rather than talking about things that I might not

even have the slightest idea about it. I have learned to respect others because

I like them to respect me back. Besides my own personal experiences, the output

atmosphere. I had private mathematics classes in English which showed me that I

wouldn't have problems with courses taught in English. I am also trying to

improve my biological vocabulary by reading biological articles and texts in

I like to listen to light music and I have learned to play the guitar and a

little piano. It really helps me to relax. Luckily, my father has always

believed that a healthy mind is within a healthy body. As a result, we all have

been growing pretty fit. I like swimming and orienteering which makes me closer

to nature. I like natural parks and fields and jungles, and I also love watching

animals, while they are doing their everyday routines.

At the end, I would like to provide that my goal for studying biology is to

discover more from the mysterious world of genetics. I hope that one day, human

The presentation of environmental problems in the media was what initially

sparked my interest in environmental studies. In school, I have always enjoyed

geography and natural sciences, which led me to take the Geography Concours

General, a particularly challenging exercise. I pursued my interest in taking

this study further by selecting books from the recommended reading lists for

courses on the environment, published on university websites. I particularly

enjoyed Flannery's comprehensive account on global warming in 'The Weather

Makers' as well as 'Heat, how we can stop the planet burning' by Monbiot for its

daring propositions on how to cut carbon emissions. 'The Politics of the

Environment: Ideas, Activism, Policy' by Neil Carter proved to be an excellent

complement.

For an extended project, a requirement of the OIB, I worked in a group

exploring carbon capture and storage as a solution for reducing carbon

emissions. Researching such a controversial matter taught me to be patient and

careful when selecting my sources. It also led me to contact Dr Ferey of the

Lavoisier Institute in Versailles, a leading specialist in the field of

microporous solids whose work I had first learned of in 'Science et Vie', one of

the periodicals I receive regularly. Interviewing him was a particularly

stimulating experience. More than this, our conversation made it clear that his

team's discoveries can only find concrete uses through the type of approach I

wish to study, combining sciences with knowledge of economic, social and

political factors.

To understand what working on environmental problems is really like, I

devoted three weeks of my summer holiday to a work experience placement at the

French Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and the Sea. I was

asked to write a synthesis and analysis of an European Commission report,

concerning the implementation of water monitoring programmes throughout the

European Union. This job helped me to develop my ability to extract the

essential information out of extensive administrative documents and law texts

and to manage my time carefully. I also learnt about the complex management of

natural resources and became very interested in methods used in the evaluation

of the ecological status of different water bodies. My work ended with an oral

presentation, a task which led me to apply the presentation skills taught at

school in front of a professional audience. I enjoyed this exercise for its

challenging aspect and the positive feedback I received, which gave me enormous

satisfaction. Daily discussions with my mentor, on subjects as various as the

importance of a river's hydromorphology to aquatic life, the intricate workings

of administration and our shared passion for cinema provided me with a more

human and social experience of the workplace.

In addition to my academic interests, I also have a part-time job teaching

English to younger students. I find this to be a challenging but rewarding task,

which has helped me develop my ability to explain things in a clear fashion. I

am also a member of my school's football team and play tennis on weekends.

I think that living in Shanghai and travelling throughout Asia with my

parents has made me a more open-minded individual. Having been taught in a

bilingual and bicultural school, I have learned to approach problems from

Having a flair for Economics and accounting I have decided that I want a

degree in Accounting and Finance or Management. The many brilliant

representatives of the management community around the world have strengthened

that resolve.

When I worked in my school as a tutor of English as a Second Language for

students from a community school in Muscat, I realized the importance of a

strong leader who could organize, command respect, and be able to work well with

others. These ideas were further enforced by my month long internship at

Novartis Pharmaceutical (Accounts and Finance Department and Human Resources

I attended the Harvard Model Congress in Paris and won the Award of

Distinction. One skill in particular that contributed to this award was my

The last 4 months have been crucial in my learning of real world business

After an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance or management I

plan to go onto post graduate studies and work on an MBA. A strong performance

in a BA will allow me to move onto an MBA and only then shall I be

For the last four years I have been part of our schools volleyball team

ICE. We have retained our ISAC (Inter Schools Activities Conference, Middle

East) title for four years. Playing in the power hitters (spiker) position

requires immense physical fitness and to accomplish that I regularly go to the

gym for fitness training. I am also part of my school track and field team.

Being the fastest sprinter in the school since 11th grade the 100m, 200m and

400m races are my specialty even though I still pursue long distance running. In

my spare time I explore and master the computer as I am conversant with a Visual

Basic Programming course. It is imperative for me to have the latest hardware

and software and I make it a point to install everything myself. I also learn

Urdu as it is my native tongue and a link to my culture, to maintain that is

crucial.

Living in a diverse international community of over 52 nationalities has

去德国上艺术专业，一类是纯艺术专业的学生，还有一种是非纯艺术的。如果是纯艺术类专业的，学校对这类学生的要求不高，纯艺术类的学生只需要在国内上完高中，拿到毕业证，然后就可以去申请德国学校艺术专业的考试了。不是纯艺术类专业的，在国内上的大学不是211的大学，读了4年(或者是5年)的学生，要在国内读完1个学期的书，最少是一个学期，如果你不是211大学的，是普通大学的本科4年(或是5年)的学生，要求要高一点，最少要在国内读完三个学期的书。特殊的艺术专业的学生可以放宽要求，高中毕业就可以，比如建筑设计专业的。德国很多艺术专业对学生的语言要求不高，要有良好的专业素养，如果你在艺术专业上有特殊的才艺的话，有些学校可以不通过面试并且不需要学历条件就直接让你进入学校了。

My first impression on computers as a machine has always impressed me. And

I have been motivated to know more about computing which eventually lead me to a

new passion. Since computers are broad my passions lead me specifically to

networking and how data is transferred over the net. At college I had the chance

一、语言成绩

艺术生在对成绩的要求上实在是很宽松的，重点是放在专业艺术水平的考察上。对于英美国家，学生需要有托福或雅思成绩证明语言能力，其中托福是美国的考试，雅思是英联邦国家的考试，一般雅思需要考到5分以上(满分9)，托福成绩一般需要达到80分以上。其中，学习纯艺术专业(如钢琴、舞蹈、绘画等专业，不含设计类及艺术教育类)的学生，对语言的要求比其它学科低。但是涉及到与人交流和沟通多的专业，比如表演类专业，要求申请者的语言成绩会比其他专业高些。

二、GPA

GPA即Grade Point

Average，就是高中或者大学在校的学习成绩，一般英国学校会让学生请提供GPA及百分制对应核算证明。艺术生留学不会像本科留学生那样在gpa上的要求过高，最低水平是不低于2.7。

三、作品集

申请国外艺术大学的过程中，学生们需要提供自认的艺术留学作品集合相关视频。一份好的作品在整个申请过程中可以占到百分之五十，它可以充分展现学生在某些方面的才能。

艺术生要有一些属于自己风格的独特艺术作品，这样在申请相关的艺术专业时能够在院校审核这一环节中作用为强有力的保障，为自己加分获得好评。在对应的专业中，学生更加要仔细筛选个人的艺术作业，最好装订成册。一般需要提交至少20张的个人作品展示专业能力和艺术思想。

1、学历条件

就读瑞士公立大学必须满足每一所大学自己规定的学历条件。

2、语言条件

申请人必须参加瑞士公立大学举行的德语、法语语言考试(这种考试可以在到了瑞士以后进行，考试方式也许就是一个教授跟你谈话);

如果成绩不好，有机会学习半年后再考一次，通过考试者方有机会进入公立大学入读。

Fashion is creative, seductive, always changing and a form of art, to

others it is a religion. To me I use fashion to express myself and also to show

my personality but also look glamorous. I mostly like the 1920s style because

it's the time when women were more liberated to wear what they wanted, the

freedom was expressed through simple but yet elegant designs that were

beautifully co-ordinated that were accessorised with jewellery and represented

the style and elegance of that time.

I am currently studying Fashion Marketing at the University of the Arts

London. Studying in London is fantastic because of the different cultural

mixture, and not to mention all the big art galleries that are in the heart of

London. London is very fast paced which I like and the atmosphere is vibrant. I

wanted to study Fashion marketing because I wanted to learn know more about the

business side of Fashion. I am influenced by designers like Alexander McQueen

because of his edgy style and Ralph Lauren more so because I used to work for

the company, but I like his style because of the sophistication of some of his

designs and the preppy look, the polo shirts and oxford shirts with riding

boots.

Since starting the course with a business mind set, I have discovered that

I am particularly drawn to marketing. I know that to excel in this subject will

really take me where I want to be. I would like to have my own agency in the

future, and possibly would look in the long term to a career in buying, as I

have enjoyed learning about fashion trend predictions, and the influence of

street style on the catwalk.

In my opinion, the Financial Engineering is a kind of creative technology

to the Financial Instruments, Financial Means and system. It used to balance the

benefits and venture as an interesting interdisciplinary subject. It covers many

fields such as mathematics, computer science and finance, in which the

mathematics and mathematical modeling are the two main aspects of the Financial

Engineering. The Investment Portfolio Theory of Markowitz, the capital asset

pricing model of the Sharp, Option Pricing Model of Black-Scholes and “Binomial”

model of Co_ can best reflect the critical position of the two subjects.

I am glad to choose mathematics and applied mathematics. Three years’ study

had deepened my understanding of them, especially of mathematical modeling. (It

still occurs to me when I went to attend the class of __ department given by

Professor Jiang qiyuan in Tsinghua University for the first time. “1 kilogram of

flour added with 1 kilogram of stuffing can make 100 dumplings, but what if the

stuffing is more than 1 kilogram?” He used a very simple, vivid and interesting

e_ample which aroused my interest and led me into the mathematical modeling

world.

The first time I kissed the mathematical modeling was in the summer

vacation of 2005, when I got a good opportunity to attend the mathematical

modeling training organized by our school. Seasoned mathematics teachers told me

what on earth the mathematical modeling is through some e_isting e_amples, in

which the one about SARS impressed me most. In 2003, SARS broke out and shrouded

rapidly to the whole world, which imperiled our economic development and

people’s living. Therefore, study on its spreading regularity and building the

mathematical modeling for predicting and controlling its e_tension had become

the “Archimedes Heels” for all mathematicians… So, the Logistic regression has

been carved in my memory. Two weeks’ training has presented me with a kind of

passion and calm thinking much more than just those classical mathematical

models. As the patron saint of our human-beings, the e_istence of Mathematics

and mathematical modeling are maintaining our subsistence and development. Then,

when SARS ran riot, when we are suffering from the pain of AIDS, what can I do

as a mathematics and mathematical modeling lover who loves life so much?

Pocketed with this passion and thinking, I tasted to use mathematical

modeling into practice and solve the practical problems by attending the

National College Mathematical Modeling Contest with the other two schoolmates on

behalf of our college. It required us to evaluate the water quality of

Changjiang River according to the data, through which we had to analyze the

water pollution in every region and predict the trend of it in the future.

Finally we had to bring out the plan against it. It was really a challenge for

us towards flood of data and estimations as long as 17 pages. We tried almost a

whole day only to filter those data and take the evaluations into comprehensive

account. Pulling down various models we had built before, we were so defeated

that we wanted to give up many times. However, we finally found the satisfactory

model thanks to our encouragement to each other which armed us with full

strength to go further.We managed to evaluate the water quality by Composite

inde_ model, which could not only represent the evaluation factors, but also

reflect the main impacts of the contaminations to the water pollution. We

predicted the future water pollution through multiple linear regressions fitting

and brought out the plan against it by building linear optimization model.

Finally, we got the second prize in Beijing for our thesis. Three days’ and

nights’ modeling e_perience had cooled our passion and gave us even more calm

thinking instead. The creation of the mathematical modeling, along with the

successful solution to the problems through it lied on the solid mathematics

foundation, strong modeling ability, accumulation of the knowledge on different

fields, unique creative ideas and creativity.

The e_perience from this contest further aroused my interest in

mathematics. I began to pay more attention to its application as well as

learning the theories. In addition, I tried to catch every opportunity to take

part in the practical mathematical modeling. My efforts finally rewarded when I

was in the first term as a junior. I had a chance to participate in the 3-day

electrician mathematical modeling practice-----classifying the sports programs

for a big sports meeting. Being familiar with the Graph Theory, I immediately

found the way to solve the problems by seeking the best Hamilton circuit line.

Facing the nearly 8.7 billion data files with different orders much more than

that on the National Mathematical Modeling Contest, I spent a long time on

Algorithm without any perfect result. I wasn’t defeated towards this case, but

so e_cited instead that I could have such a chance to challenge and improve

myself. Looking up dozens of files, I finally made a perfect end of the practice

by using the Genetic Algorithm into full account. It needs both a successful

model and an effective arithmetic to solve these problems. , which largely

shortened the operation time and improved the operation result. I learnt a lot

from this practice. I came to know that to build successful mathematics modeling

that can effectively solve the practical problems, we must take the operation

cost.

Summarizing my failures in the mathematical modeling electrician practice

and proceeding from my interest in this field, I began to think of collaborating

on the “Mathematical Modeling Saloon” with several students from mathematics and

computer departments, taking the Computer Algorithms and mathematical modeling

as the two themes of the book. Every Tuesday afternoon, we would organized those

students interested in this field to study and e_change the ideas and arithmetic

by imparting e_perience, sharing what we learnt, pondering together and

discussing with each other. Both the traditional transportation & storage

problems and the modern Stimulated Annealing Arithmetic (SAA), Ant Algorithm

have ever been the topic of our discussion, from which I have learnt many

thinking styles and methods to the problems from the students both in

mathematics and computer department. So far, I am e_cited to see that this

activity is still in the wind with more and more participants and it aroused a

learning upsurge in our college.

Recommended by my teacher, I have participated in the Teaching Reform

Program of Mrs. _ing yongli----the results analysis of “Improving the

mathematics teaching quality on class”. Mrs. _ing, along with some other

mathematics teachers e_perienced the class mutual activities in 2004 to 2005

with the character data files in form of paper investigations. For this style of

data files, I finally used the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as a creative

challenge instead of the fuzzy mathematical quantitative analysis models, which

firstly knocked my mind. By quantitating data and using the AHP, I succeeded in

analyzing how the overall quality of the teachers and their teaching skills work

in improving the mathematics teaching quality on class, from which we got the

I love to write, the challenge of putting over a complex thought or concept to a

My own personal experience of journalism started young, my dad used to

write for a magazine and take me with him when he went to interview people,

since then I have been fascinated with the industry. When I was 14 I was lucky

enough to get a work experience placement at “News International” in Wapping. I

got to work on the websites of “FiredUp.com”, “Revolver.com” and “Page3.com” as

well as have a tour of the offices of “The Sun”, “News Of The World” and “The

Times”, I have also recently been offered a day’s work experience at my local

paper and I am currently waiting for news of work experience at the BBC.

I pride myself on being well organised and thorough in my research. I have

also developed many skills such as interview techniques and being able to see

things from another perspective, a skill I have acquired through Sociology and

Communication Studies, analytical skills through Film Studies and Media Studies

and I have learnt about analysing and collating numerical data and factual

evidence in Psychology. Although I have already completed three A-Levels and two

AS Levels, I have taken a year out to study AS French, Sociology and Spanish. I

did this in order to improve my grades and to give me a wider choice of

qualifications as my previous subjects are all very similar with their syllabus

as well the fact multiple languages would be an invaluable advantage to have

when working in the area of communication.

concerts and have been an active member of the “Sum 41 Street Team” for over a

year, this involves spreading publicity through flyers and posters to promote

the band, I find it very fulfilling and enjoyable. Another one of my interests

is the Internet, I contribute articles to a site dealing with issues such as

“top-up fees” and other important student matters, which I enjoy greatly and is

helping to improve my knowledge of university for the future. I have a part time

job waitressing at a local hotel which I do a few nights a week. It gives me a

sense of my own independence and responsibility, I also help my mother at the

local Red Cross during half terms and holidays cooking for the elderly and have

also recently volunteered to sell Poppies for Remembrance Sunday throughout my

town. Another activity of mine is being my tutor group representative for our

college’s student council and regularly attend meetings to deal with concerns of

the student body.

I am thoughtful, organised and handle pressure well, I love to write and it

is my ambition to do so, I believe I can bring many things to the courses I have

selected and in turn can get a lot out of them as well.

1、lee College Music伯克利音乐学院

音乐专业在麻省算非常牛的了，不过能修完课程拿到学位的人也很少，理论编曲JAZZ都不错，做音乐的同学可以参考。

2、Center College of Design美国艺术中心设计学院

和加州理工在帕萨迪纳的山上， 和OXY Caltech可以互相注册课程旁听，工业设计，交通工具设计非常出名。

5、emy of Art University美国旧金山艺术大学

旧金山的学校，宿舍在城中分布，学费相对便宜，侧重平面，动画设计专业，录取容易，不去率也很高。

重视设计和工艺艺术的一个学校，在旧金山。

1、GPA成绩

GPA成绩是美国艺术大学录取学生能力考察的一个重要因素之一。但是对于艺术生的分数要求不会有普通学生那样高，如果按照100分满分制衡量，80分是录取艺术生的最低门槛。

1、学历准备
