i woke up and looked at my watch. oh my god, it’s 7:30 already! i have to
get up at once otherwise i’ll be late. today i’ll take the australian athletes
as a tour guide around beijing, and i’m going to be the interpreter at the
beijing olympic games opening ceremony tomorrow. this has always been a dream of
mine since beijing won the bid of the olympics, and now the dream has finally
come true—i have already become a successful interpreter. and today is another
important day of my interpreting career. i’m a little nervous but, of course,
very excited. here goes my plan for today:
well, our first destination is, surely, the landmark of beijing, the symbol
of the 5000 years’ civilization—the forbidden city—where the emperors and
empresses of the ming and qing dynasties lived, and it’s really grand. it was
renovated recently because of the coming olympics.
the second place we are going to is the great wall. this is the only
building, i hear, that can been seen from the moon, and it represents the
diligence and the wisdom of whole chinese nation.
now, it’s time for lunch. we plan to have… what? you say ”beijing duck”?
yeah, right you are! we’ll come back to the center of beijing, and we’ll have
dinner at “quanjude” restaurant. you can enjoy the most delicious chinese
food—beijing duck, and you must be very pleased to hear this! then i’ll show you
around the summer palace. it’s the royal garden for the emperors and empresses
of the qing dynasty to pass the hot summers.
after visiting those historical places, you’ll surely be impressed by the
long-lasting history of our great country. at the same time, during the journey
of moving from one place of interest to another, we won’t miss having a glance
of beijing’s modern civilization. the skyscrapers, beautiful avenues and
advanced facilities must also catch your eyes. and we’ll also have a chance to
experience beijing’s fast development in person. we’ll do some shopping at the
shopping center near the olympics village. you can buy everything there of
course except guns and drugs which are seriously forbidden in china. to see is
to believe. what you see and experience will be strong prove of your choice to
beijing, china!
that’s all about my plan for the day. what do you think of it, my friends?
today, i’m very proud to be here to give a speech about a dream, a dream for
which we worked together for nine years or even more. as beijing becomes the
host city of the 29th olympic games, every beijinger cares for the environment
and good manners and behaviors much more than before. now beijing has already
made herselves’ dream come true. so i must work harder to catch up with her
steps. knowing the hardness of making a dream into reality, i need to do my best
at every side of my work, so then i believe my little dream—to be an
interpreter—will definitely be realized someday in the future!
thank you!
Dear teachers:
I’m very glad to say something here. Today, my topic is -----I wish.
Every person has many beautiful dreams, so do I.
I wish that I have a good friend who has magic power like Dora A Dream. He
could give me anything which I want, such as Maliang’s paintbrush.
I wish I could use it to help others. Such as I could draw the coats for
the poor men when it’s cold, I could draw the food for them when they’re hungry,
and I could draw a house for them, too.
I wish that my dream will come true someday.
Thank you.
Dreams are beautiful, they keep us going forward.
It is because the dreams of our teachers that we are here today.
Everyone can dream:
Adults and Kids, males and females, captives and free men.
Even the blind can see through dreams. So allow kids like me to dream. I
have a dream.
That one day, people will stop polluting the Earth.
That one day, I can become what I want to become.
That one day, I can take very good care of my parents.
I have a dream that you will have these same dreams, just like I do.
A life without dreams is not worth living.
So don't be afraid to dream.
Let’s dream big….. Thank you.
Everybody have a dream, because we’re dreamers. In our heart, there is a
colorful dream. Sometimes the dream is perfect, sometimes it’s special,
sometimes it’s sweet, sometimes it’s yummy.
In my dream, there are some children. I always play games with them and
enjoy ourselves. There are so many candies, too. Blue candies, pink candies,
orange candies, apple candies…How delicious! In my dream, there is a special
sky. In our world, the sky is blue, but the sky of my dream is pink, some angels
are having fun there. In my dream, white bird can fly high, flowers can sing
songs, frogs have a jump race, tomatoes are blue, potatoes are yellow, all the
things are different.
In my dream, Chinese people, Korean people, Japanese people, Italian
people, Spanish people, American people and Russian people are hand in hand. All
the people smile for ever. It is a balanced world. .
In my dream, everything is wonderful, but our world isn’t like it. So we
must like my dream, to let our world get more beautiful!
Different people have different dreams. Some people dream of making a lot of money. Some people dream of living a happy life. Some people dream of being famous. Some people dream of going abroad, and soon. But my dream is different. Maybe you will get a surprise after you know my dream.
I have a wonderful dream in my heart. It's to speak English very well. Since English is everything for me. English is my best friend. English is my soul. English is my power. Without English, I'm nothing at all. Nothing. Now, I can think in English, speak in English, and write in English. Some people think I'm an Indian. Some people regard I'm a Pakistan. And some people even consider that I'm an Egyptian. But if I could speak English as good as an American, my future would be perfect. So I work very hard.
i am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the
greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.
five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand
today, signed the emancipation proclamation. this momentous decree came as a
great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in
the flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long
night of their captivity.
but one hundred years later, the negro still is not free. one hundred years
later, the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of
segregation and the chains of discrimination. one hundred years later, the negro
lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material
prosperity. one hundred years later, the negro is still languished in the
corners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land. and so
we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.
in a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. when the
architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and
the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which
every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men, yes,
black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable rights" of
"life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." it is obvious today that america
has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are
concerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the
negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient
funds."

five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand
signed the emancipation proclamation. this momentous decree came as a great
beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in the
flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long
night of captivity.
but one hundred years later, we must face the tragic fact that the negro is
still not free. one hundred years later, the life of the negro is still sadly
crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. one
hundred years later, the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst
of a vast ocean of material prosperity. one hundred years later, the negro is
still languishing in the corners of american society and finds himself an exile
in his own land. so we have come here today to dramatize an appalling
condition.
in a sense we have come to our nation's capital to cash a check. when the
architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and
the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which
every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men would be
guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness.
it is obvious today that america has defaulted on this promissory note
insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. instead of honoring this sacred
obligation, america has given the negro people a bad check which has come back
marked "insufficient funds." but we refuse to believe that the bank of justice
is bankrupt. we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great
vaults of opportunity of this nation.
so we have come to cash this check -- a check that will give us upon demand
the riches of freedom and the security of justice.
we have also come to this hallowed spot to remind america of the fierce
urgency of now. this is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to
take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. now is the time to rise from the dark
and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. now is
the time to open the doors of opportunity to all of god's children. now is the
time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid
rock of brotherhood.
it would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment and
to underestimate the determination of the negro. this sweltering summer of the
negro's legitimate discontent will not pauntil there is an invigorating autumn
of freedom and equality. nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a
beginning.
those who hope that the negro needed to blow off steam and will now be
content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to busineas usual.
there will be neither rest nor tranquility in america until the negro is granted
his citizenship rights. the whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the
foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.
but there is something that i must say to my people who stand on the warm
threshold which leads into the palace of justice. in the proceof gaining our
rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. let us not seek to
satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterneand
hatred.
we must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and
discipline. we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical
violence. again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting
physical force with soul force.
the marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the negro community must not
lead us to distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as
evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny
is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our
freedom.
we cannot walk alone.and as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall
march ahead. we cannot turn back. there are those who are asking the devotees of
civil rights, "when will you be satisfied?" we can never be satisfied as long as
our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels
of the highways and the hotels of the cities. we cannot be satisfied as long as
the negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. we can
never be satisfied as long as a negro in mississippi cannot vote and a negro in
new york believes he has nothing for which to vote. no, no, we are not
satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and
righteousnelike a mighty stream
i am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and
tribulations. some of you have come fresh from narrow cells. some of you have
come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of
persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. you have been the
veterans of creative suffering. continue to work with the faith that unearned
suffering is redemptive.
go back to mississippi, go back to alabama, go back to georgia, go back to
louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that
somehow this situation can and will be changed. let us not wallow in the valley
of despair.
i say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and
frustrations of the moment, i still have a dream. it is a dream deeply rooted in
the american dream.
i have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true
meaning of its creed: "we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are
created equal."
i have a dream that one day on the red hills of georgia the sons of former
slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at a
table of brotherhood.
i have a dream that one day even the state of mississippi, a desert state,
sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into
an oasis of freedom and justice.
i have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where
they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their
character.
i have a dream today.
i have a dream that one day the state of alabama, whose governor's lips are
presently dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, will be
transformed into a situation where little black boys and black girls will be
able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as
sisters and brothers.
i have a dream today.
i have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and
mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked
places will be made straight, and the glory of the lord shall be revealed, and
all flesh shall see it together.
this is our hope. this is the faith with which i return to the south. with
this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of
hope. with this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our
nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. with this faith we will be able
to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail
together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one
day.
this will be the day when all of god's children will be able to sing with a
new meaning, "my country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee i sing.
land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every
mountainside, let freedom ring."
and if america is to be a great nation this must become true. so let
freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of new hampshire. let freedom ring
from the mighty mountains of new york. let freedom ring from the heightening
alleghenies of pennsylvania!
let freedom ring from the snowcapped rockies of colorado!
let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of california!
but not only that; let freedom ring from stone mountain of georgia!
let freedom ring from lookout mountain of tennessee!
let freedom ring from every hill and every molehill of mississippi. from
every mountainside, let freedom ring.
when we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every
hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day
when all of god's children, black men and white men, jews and gentiles,
protestants and catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of
the old negro spiritual, "free at last! free at last! thank god almighty, we are
free at last!"

Ladies and gentlemen,
I have had a lot of teachers in my school who have given me much help in my
study. For their help I will never forget them. But today I am going to talk
about a special teacher of mine.
This teacher is not a human being and its name is“Computer”. It has been
teaching me a lot of knowledge and I appreciate it very much.
With the development of modern science and technology, computers are widely
used in every teritories [every field] including education. How can a computer
be my teacher? How does a computer teach me? Multimedia(多媒体)helps a lot in this
aspect in recent years, and computer-based training (CBT) has become a popular
educational medium (手段).
Even before the multimedia come [came] up, many different learning systems
appeared, using the components and techniques we now associate with the term
“multimedia”.
Multimedia components, such as graphics (动画) , animations , sound and
video, make the learning process easier through visualization. Animations can
present many complex subjects dynamically, but human teachers can not do this on
blackboards. Multimedia makes our study more lively and interesting.
For example, a CD-ROM disk named “Encarta Encyclopedia” contains 650 MB
information including images, graphics, music clips, video clips, animations ,
texts, hotwords, and database search functions. Fields involved includes
physical sciences, performance arts, social sciences, politics, military,
education and so on. When pressing a button, I can hear American President
Clinton's speech clip.
I may enjoy playing all kinds of musical instruments in the world. I can
also see the animation of many physical phenomena. This makes physical concept
to be understood deeply [ concepts understood better]. The audio features of
multimedia can greatly help me learning [learn] foreign languages. With its
speech output capabilities, I'm no longer dependent on an instructor for proper
pronunciation.
How can I interact with a computer? There are many ways, including
keyboard, mouse pointer, and touch screen. I often use a keyboard.
When I press right keys, I can see and hear whatever I want. Information
world is at my fingertip. I wish that true speech input-output system would be
invented one day.
As teachers, computers have a lot of virtues: They are positive, they have
good memories and never lose any information stored in them.
They have much knowledge in every field. They can let out all kinds of
sounds, and can also improve the efficiency of our study. For example, if I want
to, I can skip some chapters so that I can study at my own pace.
Although computers will never take the place of human teachers, they are
welcomed by more and more learners. Computers will continue to evolve(发展)with
the aid of modern technologies.
Computers are so powerful, helpful and important that everybody needs it,
especially in the future! I love my computer teacher!
Thank you.
Some people often say that gold and silver are the most valuable
things the world. However,I have my reservations. In my submission, reading is more
valuable than anything else. It’s well known that book is the quintessence of
human wisdom.Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.
Sometimes our daily life can start to feel dull, dry or depressing — I know
it, you know it, we all know it. At times like this, I like to dive into a good
fiction book for a much-needed escape into another world, where I can forget
about whatever problems are stressing me out. Whether you want to travel to the
land of the Hobbits, a galaxy far away or a tropical destination in a steamy
romance novel is up to you. You’ll come back refreshed after your mini-vacation
to a fresh and exciting place in the world of words.
Books are our friends. They introduce us different kinds of knowledge. They
lead us down the road to success.
Books are our teachers. They teach us troth, science, literature, and
philosophy of life. Besides, they increase our knowledge, enlarge our
experience, strengthen our character and do many other things which we can not do
without them.
Books tell us what is good and what is evil. And only books can tell the
good from the bad.
Therefore to read more books is the best policy for our young students.
Reading introduced me to concepts like mindful eating, relaxation
exercises, and the importance of loving yourself. If I didn’t read, I wouldn’t
even be aware of these ideas, which have defined my entire coaching philosophy.
If you don’t read, you could be missing out on intriguing ideas that would
likewise re-define your personal purpose or business philosophy.
As is well known, books teach us to learn life, truth, science and many
other useful things. They increase our knowledge, broaden our minds and
strengthen our character. In other words, they are our good teachers and wise
friends. This is the reason why our parents always encourage us to read more
books.
Reading is a good thing, but we must pay great attention to the choice of
books. It is true that we can derive benefits from good books. However, bad
books will do us more harm than good.
However, in current days, many of us spend most of the leisure time in
playing games or surfing the internet, instead of reading. it's a pity to find it
less and less our students are interesting in reading,or have formed a habit of
reading. So,in order to revive reading, this beneficial activity,we'd better take
action right now.let's read together, learn together and grow !
One is never too old to learn. No matter at what time we realize the
importance of reading,we can enjoy it during the rest of our life and finally we
will see that it is rewarding to do so.
China Dream, with each one of us.
Dream is beautiful, it is the bottom of my heart the most beautiful expectations, so the dream also become our long-held beliefs.Dream is the sun, it makes people from impetuous to solid, from the hesitation to the firm, and on the road to success.
Dream is powerful, it is the life source of forward momentum; Lofty dreams can inspire a life all potential.Because of this we will go to dream, to grasp the dream, the pursuit of dreams.
Our new president Xi Jinping came up with the dream of the Chinese nation's rejuvenation on December 29, 2012.He said: the Chinese dream is a dream of national strength prosperity and people's happiness.
Our people have an ardent love for life. They wish to have better education, more stable jobs, more income, greater social security , better medical and health care, improved housing conditions and better environment, They want their children to grow well, have ideal jobs and lead a more enjoyable life. To meet their desire for a happy life is our mission."
I always ask myself what can I do for our great Chinese dream ? As we all know that the wiser the youths are ,the wiser the nation will be;the wealthier the youths are ,the wealthier the nation will be;the stronger the youths are ,the stronger the nation will be. Here the word wealthy means: enriching our knowledge reserve. As a new generation of youth , every one here shouldering the great historical mission of making china powerful and strong.
You may say that this may exaggerate our role, but I want to say you are wrong. If I am a little screw our great dream may be a multifunction and complex machine. Through this example I just want to say I am very tiny but I am indispensable .
I believe that as long as all of our young people unite together and perform our own functions that study hard in school and work hard after we graduating from university . We must be able to achieve our great dream meanwhile enrich ourselves unwittingly!
My dream, our dream, to improve the Chinese dream. Let us unite together to realize Chinese nation's great rejuvenation to struggle! To you the day of my dreams to realize, is standing at the time of China.
good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen; when i was in the primary school, i
had a dream, i want to invent a device which could bring you from one place to
another in no time at all. when i was in the secondary school, my dream was to
study in my ideal university. and when eventually i got into the university, my
dream was to graduate. how pathetic! when we grow up, we dream less and become
more realistic. why? why do we have to change our dreams, so, so in order to let
it be “fulfilled”? why do we have to surrender to the so-called “reality”? what
is the reality actually?
ladies and gentlemen, the reality is not real. it is barrier keeping us
from all possible fantasies. flying, for example, had been a dream to mankind
for thousands of years. a hundred years ago, “man could not fly” was still
regarded as the “reality”. now if that was really the reality, what did the
wright brothers do? how did some of you get to macao? only when we believe that
the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams. people say that our future
is a battle between the reality and our dreams. and if, unfortunately,
mr.reality wins this war, then i see no future of mankind at all. aids will
never be curable as this is the reality; people living in the undeveloped
countries will suffer from starvation forever as this is the reality; disputes
among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and
intolerance is the reality.
ladies and gentlemen, how many of you have a dream of being able to make a
lot of money? please raise your hands. oh, quite a number of you! actually,
ladies and gentlemen, this is not a dream, but a task. every one of us has to
make a living, right? anyway i hope your task will be accomplished. how many of
you think hat you have already fulfilled your dream and that you don’t dream
anymore? dear adjudicators, what do you think? c.s.lewis once said, “you are
never too old to dream a new dream. “so for our future, please dream and be
unrealistic. now that i am university student, my goal is to graduate with
excellences. but at the same time, i have dream deeply rooted in our future. one
day, people living in the areas now sweltering with the horror of wars will be
able to sit with their families and enjoy their every moment. one day, from the
rich countries are willing to share what they have with those from the poor
countries and those from the countries will eventually be able to make their own
happy living themselves. one day , different cultures in this age of
globalization will coexist with tolerance and the unfriendly confrontations
among them will be eliminated. one day, the globe will share the dream with me
and we will all contribute to making our dream come true. one day, our dream
will defeat the reality!
thank you very much!

Different people have different dreams. Some people dream of
making a lot of money. Some people dream of a happy life. Some people dream of
being famous. Some people dream of going abroad and so on. But my dream is
different from them. You might be surprised to know my dream.
In my heart, there is a beautiful dream. That is to speak fluent english.
Because for me, English is everything to me. English is my best friend. English
is my soul. English gives me strength. Without English, I have nothing. There
aren't any. Now, I can think in English, speak in English, and write in english.
Some people think I'm indian. Some people think I'm from Pakistan. Some people
even think I'm egyptian. But if I can speak English as well as Americans say, my
future will be great. So I study very hard.

English is a West Germanic language that developed in England during the Anglo-Saxon era. As a result of the military, economic, scientific, political, and cultural influence of the British Empire during the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries and of the United States since the mid 20th century,it has become the lingua franca in many parts of the world. It is used extensively as a second language and as an official language in Commonwealth countries and many international organizations.
Historically, English originated from several dialects, now collectively termed Old English, which were brought to Great Britain by Anglo-Saxon settlers beginning in the 5th century. The language was influenced by the Old Norse language of Viking invaders. After the Norman conquest, Old English developed into Middle English, borrowing heavily from the Norman (Anglo-French) vocabulary and spelling conventions. The etymology of the word "English" is a derivation from 12th century Old English: englisc or Engle, and plural form Angles; definition of, relating to, or characteristic of England. Modern English developed with the Great Vowel Shift that began in 15th-century England, and continues to adopt foreign words from a variety of languages, as well as coining new words. A significant number of English words, especially technical words, have been constructed based on roots from Latin and ancient Greek.

Ladies and Gentlemen , Good afternoon! I‟m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “youth”. I hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.
First I want to ask you some questions: 1、 Do you know what is youth? 2、 How do you master your youth?
Youth
Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .
Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being „s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what‟s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there‟s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .
When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80. That‟s all ! Thank you!

hello everyone!
Students, guests , teachers and Honorable Judges
Good morning !
my great pleasure to share my dream with you today. my dream is to become a
teacher.
As the whole world has its boundaries, limits and freedom coexist in our
life。 I don’t expect complete freedom, which is impossible。 I simply have a
dream that supports my life。
I dream that one day, I could escape from the deep sea of thick schoolbooks
and lead my own life。 With my favorite fictions, I lie freely on the green
grass, smelling the spring, listening to the wind singing, breathing the fresh
and cool air and dissolve my soul in nature at last。 Simple and short enjoyment
can bring me great satisfaction。
I dream that one day the adults could throw their prejudice of comic and
cartoon away。 They could keep a lovely heart that can share sorrow and happiness
with us while watching cartoon or doing personal things。 That’s the real
communication of heart to heart。
I have the belief that my dreams should come true。 I am looking forward to
some day coming when I am like a proud eagle, which flies to the blue and vast
sky。
Thank you!
