As long ago as I can remember I have always been fascinated by the natural

world. That childish fascination has not left me but deepened over the years.

This interest has led me to my love of biology, ecology, animal behavior and

evolution.

Following my graduation from High School I studied Biological Sciences for

two years at the Catholic University of Chile in Santiago. From March 2003 to

November 2004 I was obliged to take a break from my studies at university as my

father was moving from the city to a more remote rural area. While helping my

father I was able to work closely with birds of prey among others and I was

successful in breeding the endangered chinchillas. During my time away from

university I continued to deepen my knowledge of my subject and studied

evolutionary thinking and the biological basis of behavior. I also worked for a

brief time as a translator which made me think that perhaps my English was good

enough o complete my studies in an English speaking country.

Since coming to Oxford and studying at OLT I have improved my written

English a great deal. I am a member of The Natural History Museum (London) and

recently attended a course called "The History of Evolution." The course was

organized by Birkbeck Collegeand took place at the Natural History Museum in

London each Wednesday. The course has been fascinating and has served to confirm

my suspicion that the more I learn of this subject the more I want to know.

I am hopeful that my previous studies in Santiago, my maturity and my

experience in this field will allow me to enter the second year of an

undergraduate programme in the UK. After completing my undergraduate it is my

wish to continue studying at postgraduate level and ultimately conduct my own

research in this area.

My other academic interests include Paleoanthropology, and the history and

development of science. I am most interested in the writings of Darwin and

Thomas and Henry Huxley.

I am keen on fitness training, horse riding, trekking and diving. I am most

interested in all outdoor pursuits. I am also keen to develop my newly found

skills in classical singing and dance.

I realize that as a non-native student I will be required to work harder

than my contemporaries and I am prepared to do that. I have a cheerful and

open-minded disposition and look forward to sharing and exploring new ideas.

frozen with snow.” These are the lines I recite to myself, whenever I formulate

a major objective in my life. Cherishing the desire to fully realize my

self-fulfillment, I have always hoped that my life will consist of materializing

a succession of aspirations and ideals.

Our dreams are the impetus that drives us to make progress. If we liken

ourselves to planes, our dreams are the maintenance and fuel that drive us

forward to reach our goals. Some planes may never have flied, while others may

have landed in many places. It all depends on their goals and jet fuel

supplement. Therefore, it is of great importance to set goals in life first and

then find the best place to replenish enough fuel supplements.

Proud of having more English learners than any other country in the world,

China has a more demand for English experts since its entry into the WTO. As an

English teacher who has worked in this field for over three years, I have a

clear vision of the future of English teaching in China, and I am determined to

scale a higher height in English in a more advanced country which is rich in jet

fuel. I am ready to take off.

During my undergraduate study, I majored in Marketing, and benefited a lot

from the multicultural environment at Beijing International Studies University,

where I was able to excel both academically and personally. Our school attaches

great importance to cultivating students in a practical way. We were required

not only to lay a solid foundation in our major coursework, but also to have a

good command of English so as to meet the demands of society. Within such a

nourishing atmosphere, I developed myself in a comprehensive way. Apart from my

major coursework study, I nurtured my gift for English and spent most of my

spare time teaching English to others. I worked as a part-time English teacher

at Li Yang Crazy English training school and as an English tutor to middle

school students and adults. My interest and ability in English grew in this

process.

I was recruited by Beijing Bayi Middle School to teach English after my

graduation. In order to enrich my experience,I studied by myself the educational

psychology in my spare time. I also did some research work comparing American

and Chinese education. I found that Chinese students and teachers are superior

to the Americans in knowledge accumulation, but we are inferior to Americans in

potential, because the American teachers have been exerting significant

importance on the students’ psychology while nearly 2/3 Chinese teachers are

poor in this aspect. Realizing such a problem in Chinese way of teaching, I have

perfected my teaching in daily life. For example, I often praised my students in

class no matter how simple the questions were; I adopted the “portfolio system

“in class especially for those from poor families or single-parent families to

“talk” with them in a more informal way; I encouraged the students who lagged

behind with the method of “yes-right hand and no-left hand” that is, if he or

she knew the answer, then they put his or her right hand up, vice verse…To my

delight, my endeavor paid in the end : nearly all of my students gradually

became more confident and like English more and more. Through the familiarity

with my students, I also gradually realized that an English teacher is more like

a helper to deliver the kernel of Western culture to cultivate the students’

characteristics than a person just imparting the knowledge.

In 2005, I helped to found the “Chinese University Alliance Education

Training Company” with my partner Wang Nuoda, a Lecturer of Communication

University of China. We are eager to help those students who have passion in

learning English while lack in methods. Besides teaching the students, I also

did some training work to the new employees, introducing them how to lead-in,

how to make the boring grammar more vivid, how to make the students more

interested in the class by using the PPT and real materials.

However, there are still things that make me confused. In China, parents

treat their children’s education very seriously. In recent years, with China’s

rapid development and the trend of globalization, parents have put more emphasis

on their children’s education in English - the universal language. Children are

exposed to English on the day they start kindergarten. Some poorer parents even

lead a bitter life to save money so that their children can attend an English

training program after class. However, such “English fever”, to some extent,

speeds up polarization of students’ English level, and more seriously, many

students’ “hate” English from a young age.

So, How to deal with this problem? I have been asking myself this question,

and have found the answer in myself. What I have mastered is far from enough for

me to figure out the best way to teach English. In addition, I think that I need

to improve myself in a comprehensive manner, not only in academic field but also

in personality. As we know, teachers are called the engineer of people’s soul.

So they must cultivate themselves both morally and professionally. With a

devoted heart to English education, I am determined to quit my present job and

add some jet fuel so that I can fly higher and further and finally land at my

designated destination.

As we know, the United States enjoys a high reputation in the theoretical

research and practice of TESOL. In my future study, I intend to learn the theory

of TESOL and English teaching methodology, i.e. how a teacher deals with the

problems found in the students and helps them achieve good study results.

Moreover, my study in your esteemed university will get me further acquainted

with the language and culture, communicate with the native-speakers and improve

my English ability in a comprehensive manner.

After finishing my Master’s program, I intend to continue my English

teaching at a top university in China, to contribute what I have learned to

those who need my help. Besides, I will be actively engaged in searching for

English studying methods that best suit the Chinese people, so as to turn out

more students with a skilled mastery of English that are required on China’s

market.

截至目前，澳大利亚对于海外旅客的入境仍然处于比较严格限制的阶段。目前仍在实施封闭国境、加速疫苗接种以及个别地区封城的主要防疫措施。

据澳大利亚总理莫里森所说，只要澳洲境内接种疫苗的人口中有70%完成两剂疫苗接种，届时就会增加已接种疫苗的抵澳人数上限，并且入境时可以减少隔离时间。

根据政府批准的季节性工人计划或太平洋劳工计划招聘的人

一、登机检查

初次出国，要接受的检查会比较多，所以大家是早一点抵达机场，建议提前三个小时达到，给自己留出足够的时间，抵达后需要先换取登机牌，并且托运自己的行李，可以提前选座位。

学生可以走绿色通道接受安检，需要带好自己的随身行李和身份证件，接受行李开包的检查，并且回答基本的问询调查，没有问题之后就可以直接静心候机厅等待起飞了。

二、飞行途中

在飞机上，需要大家领取入境卡，并且按照要求进行填写，确认自己的各项基础信息，大家在国内的时候就可以先进行填写，这样不用担心会出错，直接誊写就可以了，只需要填写要填的部分。

由于是长途出行，大家需要睡觉的准备，可以准备一双拖鞋，带上耳塞和眼罩;会为大家提供餐饮的服务，出了定时发放的餐饮，大家还可以随时向空乘人员提出要求。

三、入境检查

抵达了俄罗斯之后，大家需要带上自己随身的行李，先下飞机接受入境的检查，新生需要找到相关的通道，排队接受检查，提交自己的入境卡，并且还会有入境的问询。

会问到的问题基本上会是固定的，大家可以在国内进行相应回答的准备，按照真实的情况进行回答即可，基本上不会出问题，通过考察之后，大家就可以直接去大厅领行李了。

在领导了自己的行李之后，大家还需要接受海关的检查，有行李需要申报的话，需要拿出来接受复核，没有问题才能够正式入境，不然会需要接受二次的考核。

出了机场之后，就可以联系接机的人员了，新生还是有专业人员进行引导，这样才不会耽误大家的行程，从而影响正式的入学办理。

德国海关规定，非欧盟国家的旅客在入境时，只能携带价值不超过58.8欧元的个人生活用品，否则将被征税。不过这一条规定在被执行时是有一定困难的，因为德国海关并不能确定每一样物品的价值，在这一点上留学生可以适当灵活掌握自己的行李内容。

德国政府对于烟、酒等特殊产品，也有不同的免税规定：

钱：留学生可以携带任意数量的人民币、美元或其他货币及黄金进入德国国境而不需要进行申报，而这些货币在德国国境内也可以自由兑换，不会受到限制。

烟：德国入境旅客可以携带的烟草数量是，香烟200支或小雪茄100支、烟草250克或雪茄50支。

酒：德国入境旅客可以携带酒类产品的重量是，22度以上的酒1公升或22度以下的酒2公升、含有敬酒的饮料2公升、普通葡萄酒2公升。

咖啡、茶叶：德国入境旅客可以携带的咖啡和茶类产品的重量是，咖啡粉500克或浓缩咖啡精200克、茶叶100克或浓缩茶精40克。

其他产品：德国入境旅客可以携带的其他产品重量是，香水50克或花露水0.25公升。

一、兼职准备

语言是基础，不管大家进行什么样的工作，都是需要进行交流的，而即时的沟通讲究效率，所以大家的英语口语要有不错的水平，才能够应对兼职工作中的需求，便宜大家先不要太早的工作。

还需要做好充分的心理准备，确认自己能够应对工作的各种挑战，在适应期肯定会犯错，只要熟练了之后就会很容易上手，所以大家也不要轻易的沮丧，做好自己的工作即可。

二、求职渠道

大部分的工作信息来源都是专业网站或者中介，如果想要获取符合自己要求的岗位，需要支付一定的费用由专业人员进行筛选，这样的工作安全性和可靠性也会更高一些。

如果大家只是想感受兼职的氛围，对具体工作没有很高的要求的话，可以找朋友或者同学介绍，说不定能够遇到比较合适的工作，而且内推的成功率会更大一些。

三、工作要求

首先要了解自己能够工作的时间要求，每周最长只能够工作20个小时，假期没有限制，但是每天也只能工作8个小时，而且学生要成年之后才能够进行兼职工作。

在入职前，还需要办好自己的税卡，因为不管工资的发多少，都是需要交税的，税号是税卡上的编号，是大家填表的凭证，也是后续办理退税需要填写的编码，学生工作所得是可以申请退税的。

四、薪资介绍

工作的工资一般是按小时计算的，不过工资的发放一般是按月来，还需要缴税，所以最后大家到手的工资会比计算的工资少一些，大家要认真的进行核对，确认自己的合法收入。

政府对学生兼职的时薪是有最低的要求的，不过不同的城市经济发展水平有差异，所以还是需要根据在读的城市标准来进行确认，基本上维持在100-150元/小时。

众所周知，留学已经是澳洲的一个成熟教育产业。从院校宣传、学生录取到政府支持的入境政策等都非常友好。用优质的教育水平和优美自然的生活环境，吸引全球的留学生蜂拥前往。但是由于疫情原因，澳洲已经关闭入境快1年的时间了，也就是说已经有3期的学生无法入境。眼看3月已经开学，7月的开学时间也即将到来。澳洲的教育行业者们不得不再次联合起来，约谈各联邦政府部长，为留学生争取入境澳洲的机会。

目前澳洲预定的8万剂疫苗已经从比利时发货，近日抵达澳洲后，将会马上开始接受测试。顺利的话，接种工作也会随之开始。澳洲卫生部长在上月发表意见，预计边境将持续关闭到2021年年底。在没有全民注射疫苗前，可能都不会开放。毕竟在目前的全球疫情威胁下，开放跨国旅游可能会引起另一轮高风险状态。

澳洲国籍教育协会CEO宣称，限制留学生回到澳洲这样的行为，会对澳洲的教育行业带来毁灭性的打击。他希望政府可以向世界传递更积极友好的信息，让学生们相信今年年底他们就能回到澳洲。借此来挽留学生继续读网课，不要放弃在澳洲的教育机会。

据澳洲官方数据统计，目前澳洲境内有37万国际留学学生，境外17万人。各既要服从政府决策，又要维持行业生存，澳洲的高校只能另辟蹊径，在海外开设学习中心。租用境外大学的校园开设学习中心，结合线上授课线下实践的方式来吸引学生，以保证学生有在校园读书学习的真实感。

根据悉尼大学的发言人报告显示，2021年第一学期申请入学的人数比去年要高出14%，表示大家还是有很强的意愿来澳洲留学。但是实际上登记入学的人数还是有在减少。也说明大家都在观望。也许他们都在期待一个确认入境的消息。

虽然留学入境的消息还在待定，但是澳洲3月开始已经开放了部分特殊人群的旅游签证。目测距离完全开放也不远。所以，准备申请澳洲7月或者明年2月课程的同学可以放心准备了。

入境提示

使馆提示，即使拿到签证也不一定能顺利入境，真正决定你入境的是德国海关。

因此，为了能顺利入境，笔者提醒大家随身携带关于旅行目的的证明材料，以便检查。

但大家也不必太过担心，根据近期前往德国留学的学生回馈，入境时很少出现卡人的情况。

入境中转

如果需要先前往第三方国家中转的人，一定要事前向其确认入境政策，否则很可能无法顺利入境。

Hospitality Industry is one of the fastest-growing industries, whose great

variety makes it very interesting area of working.

I have never thought about the fascination and the opportunities which this

industry offers until the day I started to work as a tourist manager assistant

two years ago. It was a summer job which was supposed to fill up my free time

and increase my budget. I knew I was going to like it because I am keen on

meeting new people and visiting tourist destinations, but I did not even suspect

how much it would affect me. As an assistant I was required to help the tourist

manager accommodate the guests and organize different kinds of entertainment.

This job gave me opportunity to become acquainted with the work of such people

as hotel, club and event managers. I was deeply impressed by their diligence to

satisfy every need of their customers. I have realized the responsibility of

their profession, but I have also understood how satisfied they are when their

clients are happy. I will never forget the face of the tourist manager I worked

with when the guests thanked him for the perfect holiday. His face was beaming.

Despite the fact I was only an assistant I felt satisfaction too seeing that the

tourists were content with our work. This feeling of gratification and even

happiness was the main reason why I decided to study Hospitality management. I

am fond of knowing more about each sector of Hospitality industry, in which I

see my future.

Every manager needs leadership skills. I think I have gained them by

participating in diverse activities. I was one of the students choosen to stage

a play for the hundredth anniversary of my primary school. The most difficult

task of the organization of the play was to make the children deliver an

inspired performance. Eventually I managed to motivate them not only to be good

actors but to enjoy acting itself. It produced positive response. The passion I

have for foreign languages ensured my successful participation in the English

Language Festival of my school. In this way I have improved my organizational

and presentation skills. Being a member of both Eco-club-Mathew and Interact

club, the aim of which is charity, I have gained a sense of teamspirit.

As a lover of nature the thing I like to do the most is to go hiking and on

picnics. I find the nature of England very attractive and I am looking forward

to going there and seeing its beauties. Dancing is my hobby too. I have been

dancing a modern ballet for five years. This is my way to relax and keep

fit.

I am reliable and positive person, who enjoys challenges and never gives

up. I dream of managing a hotel, even a chain of hotels. I realize how great my

ambitions are and how hard I must work to achieve them but I think it is most

important to have a wish and will. When one who has strong wishes is

self-confident and self-motivated, when he is patient and determined he can

fulfill them. I know that besides all these qualities I must also have skills in

order to succeed in this industry in which there is such a competition. Studying

1、入境登记

乘飞机时，会有空服人员给你一张加国的入境登记卡，卡有两面，一面是英文一面是法文，在飞机上填好，就不用在加国边境现填写，可以节省时间，卡上的证件号码是填护照号码，不是身份证号码。下机后，海关官员再根据申报表的内容与实际物品核对。

2、文件准备

准备好护照、签证、海关申报表(飞机上已经填写好的)。第一次到加拿大的留学生还要带上自己的录取通知书和加拿大驻华大使馆发的登陆纸。

3、办理入境

走下国际航班，随人流前行，上下一些台阶以后，就会到达海关入境大厅。进入大厅后到加拿大移民局(CanadaImmigration)办理StudyPermit，先去排队，然后轮到你的时候，哪个移民官柜台上面的灯是亮的，你就去哪个柜台，移民官将会审查护照和签证，并查看你的入学通知书和学费收据、还会用英文问你一些问题，大概是在加拿大呆多久和在哪个大学及什么时候回家之类的问题。你一定要用英语回答，然后他收回你的登陆纸，发给你Studypermit(学习许可)，并将它直接订在你的护照上。

移民局工作人员还会在你的护照和海关申请表上盖章。要特别注意的是，留学生初次入境先排队把StudyPermit拿好，不要急于拿行李。记住这是非常重要的一环，因为加拿大移民法规定，登陆地点的移民官有权拒绝任何人入境，千万不要以为已经到了那就万事大吉了，移民官如果不满意你的回答一样有权不许你入境。办理入境手续一定要在第一登陆地点(即飞机到达加国的第一个城市)。StudyPermit千万不可以丢了，因为它十分重要，上面有你就读的学校和课程及签证到期日。

4、提取行李

办理好入境手续之后，可以到行李传送带前提取自己托运的行李，取行李处都有手推车可供使用。行李车在温哥华机场免费使用，多伦多机场要投硬币行李车才能推出来(事先准备好加元或美元硬币均可，机场也有兑换的地方)，归还的时候会退给部分费用。拖运的行李放在行李传送转盘上，每条行李传送带的旁边或中间都有一个显示器显示航班号，找到你对应航班的转盘，取走托运的行李。你在行李上做一定的标记，比如说贴不干胶或系绳子，这样就可以一眼找到自己的箱子，省很多时间。
