今天我们迎来了全国爱眼日，自1996年，国家卫生部国家教育部团中央中国残联等12个部委联合发出通知，将爱眼日活动列为国家节日之一，并重新确定每年6月6日为“全国爱眼日”，对其关注提高到全新的高度。

20__年全国青少年健康体质调查，我国学生平均近视率：小学20%，初中48%，高中71%，大学73%，20__年初中生近60%，高中生76%，大学生83%，较20__年显着提高，而且发生年龄提前，程度加重。根据20__年中国美国澳大利亚合作开展的一项防治儿童近视钻研项目前期调查显示，中国人口近视发病率为33%，全国近视人数已近4亿，已经达到世界平均水平22%的1.5倍。而近视高发群体――青少年近视发病率则高达50%至60%，我国是世界上近视发病率的国家之一，近视人数居世界第一。近视已经成为影响我国人民健康的重要问题。此外，我国视力残疾人数约有1310万人，在视力残疾患者中约25%即300万患者需要低视力保健，而且低视力患者仍以每年上百万计的数量增加。在这种严重的形势下，国家非常重视视觉质量的提高和低视力患者的康复。

开展“爱眼日”宣传活动对提高低视力患者生活质量和康复水平预防眼病保护人民群众眼健康具有重要意义。地方各级卫生行政部门和残疾人联合会要充分熟悉这项工作的重要性，按照[中共中央国务院关于促进残疾人事业发展的意见]，环绕活动主题制订“爱眼日”活动工作方案，确定专门机构和专人负责，进一步加强沟通和协调，精心部署安排今年的“爱眼日”活动。“爱眼日”活动期间，要组织动员医疗机构防盲治盲工作者和眼科医务人员深入到城市社区农村和乡镇，开展义诊和健康咨询活动，为群众提供眼保健服务，普及低视力防治知识，帮助低视力患者掌握正确的治疗和康复方法，培养群众良好的用眼习惯，降低眼病发病率和致盲率。要积极与新闻媒体沟通协调，通过电视广播报刊互联网12320全国公共卫生公益热线等形式，宣传国家的防盲治盲政策，介绍防盲治盲项目，传播眼保健知识，提高公众的防盲治盲意识。要加强部门间的沟通协调，建立工作机制，将宣传活动引向深入，确保各项宣传措施取得实效。爱眼日演讲稿：关注青少年视力健康

Crossing the Sea

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. The title of my speech today is "Crossing the Sea".

An English poet by the name of Rudyard Kipling once wrote in his poem "We and They":

"All the people like us are We

And everyone else is They

We live over the sea

While They live over the way

We eat pork and beef with cowhorn-handled knives

They who gobble their rice off a leaf

Are horrified out of their lives."

When these lines first caught my eyes, I was shocked-how could two peoples remain so isolated and ignorant of each other in the past? Today's society, of course, is an entirely different picture. Those people who used to eat with cowhorn-handled knives might be very skillful in using chopsticks, and those people who used to gobble their rice might be as well have taken to fish and chips.

Indeed, just take China as an example: Our modern life has been influenced by Western style of living in so many ways that it's no longer surprising to see teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole families dining out at McDonald's and even rather elderly people dressed in Apple Jeans.

However, these are only some expressions of the cultural changes taking place in our society today. What is really going on is a subtle but significant restructuring of the nation's mentality. Just look around.

How many college graduates are ready to compete aggressively for every job opportunity, whereas not long ago they were asked just to sit idle and wait for whatever was to be assigned to them by the government?

How many young people are now eager to seek for an independent life whereas only two decades ago they would rely totally on their parents to arrange for their future? Ask anyone who participates in today's speech contest. Who has not come with a will to fight and who has not come determined to achieve self-fulfillment in winning the game? And I'm quite certain that if Confucius had lived to see today's China, he would have been horrified to see young lovers kissing each other in public places in an unreserved expression of their passion.

It is therefore evident that we as descendants of an ancient Eastern civilization are already living under strong inf1uence of the Western culture. But it is not only in China that we find the incorporation of the two cultures.

Take the United States as an example: During the 1980s,in face of the overwhelming competition from Japan, many American companies such as the Ford began to adopt a teamwork management from their rivals, the essence of which, lay at the very core of Eastern culture.

Take the Chinese acupuncture as another example: This traditional treatment of diseases is finally finding its way to the West and hence the underlying notion that illness is resulted from the imbalance between Yin and Yang within the body -- an idea which would strike any Westerner as incredible in the past!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we live in a great epoch when the global integration of economy and the information revolution have brought cultures of the world closer than ever before. We live in a particular era when countries, East and West, find themselves in need of readjusting their traditional values. We live, at the same time, at a critical juncture of our evolution because such problems as ethnic conflicts and regional unrest are increasingly posing a threat to the peace and happiness of the whole human race. To cope with such an era and to embrace an even brighter future, we need to learn to live more harmoniously in a world community which is becoming smaller and smaller.

My dear fellow students, our command of the English language renders it possible for us to gain an insight into Western culture while retaining our own cultural identity.Therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual understanding between China and the rest of the world.

It is my happiest dream that the new generation of Chinese will not only grow up drinking Coca-Cola and watching Hollywood, but also be blessed with the far-reaching benefits of multiple cultures; benefits that our forefathers had never, ever dreamed of.

To end my speech, I would like to quote Rudyard Kipling again:

"All the people like us are We

And everyone else is They

But once you cross over the sea

You will end by looking on We

As only a sort of They"

女士们、先生们，晚上好。今天，我演讲的题目是:《穿越海洋》。

英国诗人罗得雅德?吉卜林曾写过一首诗，名叫《我们与他们》，其中写道:

第一次读到这首诗，我很震惊——过去两个民族何以如此疏离、彼此陌生?当然今日的社会呈现出完全不同的情景:那些过去吃米饭的人们也开始喜欢吃鱼和薯条。

的确如此，就拿中国来说，西方的生活方式已经广泛地影响了我们的现代生活，以致对于年轻人对摇滚乐着迷，全家去吃麦当劳，老年人穿苹果牌牛仔裤，大家都已习以为常。

然而，这不过是我们当今社会中所发生的文化变迁的表面现象而已，真正发生的却是我们的民族心理开始了微妙而又有重大意义的重建，大家只要看看周围就会清楚。

不久以前，大学生还只是束手空坐，等待政府给他们分配工作;如今，又有多少大学生正在做充分准备，为争取任何工作机会而激烈角逐?

20年前年轻人还完全依靠父母为他们安排未来，今天又有多少年轻人在急切地寻求一种独立的生活?试问今天参加演讲比赛的诸位，谁不是带着志在一搏的心情来到这里?谁不是铁下心来赢得这场比赛以实现自我?如今年轻人毫无顾忌地宣泄情感当众亲吻，我确信，倘若孔子在世，他必被吓坏。

很明显，我们这些东方古老文明的后裔们早已生活在西方文化的强烈影响之下，然而出现这种异质文化合流的现象不止是在中国。

以美国为例，20世纪80年代，面对来自日本的强大竞争压力，许多美国公司如福特公司开始采用对手的集体合作管理方式，而这种方式正是东方文化核心之精华。

再以中华针灸为例，这种传统的医疗方法以及这种疗法的依据——即人体阴阳失调导致疾病最终得到西方社会的承认，而在过去，西方人还认为这是无稽之谈。

女士们，先生们，我们恰逢一个伟大的时代:全球经济一体化、信息革命使得世界各种文化联系比以往更加紧密;

我们恰逢一个特殊的年代:无论是东方国家还是西方国家都意识到自身急需调整传统价值。与此同时，我们正生活在发展的关键时刻:种族冲突，地区动荡正越来越威胁着整个人类的和平与幸福。如何对待这一时代，拥抱更加灿烂的未来，我们需要学会在越来越小的世界大家庭中更加和睦地生活。

亲爱的同学们，我们掌握英语，得以了解西方文化，与此同时，又不失本民族的文化特征。

因此，促进中国与世界的文化交流与相互理解是我们神圣的责任。

我有一个美好的梦想，我梦想中国的年轻一代不仅仅在喝可口可乐、看好莱坞影片中成长，而且还受益于我们的父辈所从未梦想过的多元文化所带来的深远影响。

Two years ago, i came into this city of and started my college life , the

most memorable journey of my life. i was just a shy and little girl that time.

all the things seemed fresh to me: new faces, large library and physics lab etc.

i breathed the air of college greedily, i was curious about everything.the class

given by the teachers are excellent.they provide us with information not only

from our textbook but from other sources as well.i actively involved in student

union and varies of association. but soon i realized that i do not make full use

of my spare time ,so i got a part-time job to help a junior student with math

lessons besides,i also took part in activities concerning public welfare. we

taught the kids there who could not afford school, i was deeply touched by their

eagerness to learn, the precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of

the responsibility on the shoulders of us--future teachers. the enrichment of

experience taught me the significance of modesty,responsibility,tolerance,and

perseverance.

and now i have been here two years. recalling to the two years, i think i

have to talk about one thing--learning. learn how to study independently, learn

how to get along with others, learn to love, learn to… oh, there are too much

things we have to learn.

comparing with senior high school, college is a rather different place.

there aren’t so many people to watch you and guide you how to do something any

more, neither are there so many students who share with you one dream. in

college, you must think and study yourself, so you have to learn and practice to

control yourself.

another relationship in college is friendship. my roommates have lived two

years with me. in these years, they forgive my faults, cry with me, laugh with

me, play with me… they always stand with me and support me, i have learned a lot

from them. i love them all and treasure the friendship with them.

a few favorite books to you.

My favorite book is . This is a diary written by an Italian boy Enrico. The

diary is about his life and study. It included various touching stories that

happened around Enrico, the mottos taught by his parents, as well as the

wonderful ten "monthly" stories told by his teacher during the class. Every word

in the chapter describes the word "love". From patriotism to friendship, and to

the love between parents and child -- really touching.

This novel taught me how to love, and how to learn from love. I really like

Well, it is a story of a rich girl who maintained her noble character after

and perseverance of the little princess in the story. I have decided to learn

Good morning! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.

Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is a

growth. If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up

along with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future,

however that’s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future

holds for me.

When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all starts

here. Following I will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine

body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind,

Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget

假性近视也是同学们经常遇到的问题，由于长期看近物，引起眼内肌肉调节痉挛，在看远时仍有部分屈光度未放松，因而远视力降低，而近视力正常。患假性近视如果不防不治，让眼睛长期处于过度调节状态，久而久之，可能有一部分假性近视成为真性近视。假性近视可以治疗，千方百计设法使之看远，放松调节，是治疗假性近视和预防真性近视的根本措施。

大量的医学研究证实，随着近视度数加深，各种眼病的发生率将显著增加，像黄斑变性、视网膜脱离等，特别是高度近视更容易引起上述并发症，严重的可以致盲。学生近视，将影响中国高素质人才职业的筛选，缩小不少特殊职业人员的选取范围，它甚至成为高中生高考健康体检专业受限的首要因素。近视和其他的高危疾病不大一样，它并非是突发性的，而是渐进性的，是可以预防的。

近视的主要原因：

1看电视距离太近;

2看电视的时间太长;

3所看电视的画面浓度太深;

4写作业时的姿势不正确;

5在光线太强的阳光下看书;

6在光线太弱的光下看书;

7长时间的坐在电脑、电视前;

8不合理饮食;

9在车厢里看书

在这里我想给大家提出几点建议：

1看书时坐姿要端正，读书或写字时做到“眼离书本一尺远，胸离书桌一拳远，手离笔尖一寸远。”

2不要在坐车或行走的时候看书，也不要躺下看书。

3每天坚持认真做两次眼保健操。

4尽可能少上网或看其他辐射性强的东西。注意作息时间的安排，不能让眼睛长期处于疲劳状态。

眼睛是心灵的窗户，我们一定要好好爱护它!同学们，让我们从现在做起，从培养自身良好的用眼习惯做起。共同保护好我们的眼睛。我相信只要大家努力，每个人都会有一双明亮，清澈，有神的大眼睛。

Consider the lowly toilet. Many of you may not think of the toilet as a form of technology if you think of toilets at all. But, it is and has contributed greatly to the improved health and overall quality of life for mankind.

On a recent trip to Japan, I was impressed by, among other things, a gadget in most public women's restrooms, called Otohime or Sound Princess. This device produces the sound of flushing water without the need for actual flushing. The technology saves the user both the embarrassment of being heard during urination and some 20 liters of water per use in cases where a woman might flush the toilet continuously while using it.

Every time I used Otohime, I felt like a princess, an environmentalist princess on the toilet.

It was a longed for feeling. Over the past decade, I shuffled in and out of many kinds of public restrooms in China--filthy smelly water closets in outlying areas, spacious luxurious lavatories in five-star hotels, forever-occupied girls' stalls on campus during school, and smart modern mobile toilets in international fairs. But not one single "room" evoked my pride of being a princess.

And I knew why the Sound Princess had. It was not because of the high technology the small bathroom boasted which is becoming ubiquitous worldwide. It was the idealism embodied in the technology that keeps reminding me that in this ever-changing world, I am a responsible and dignified human being even when sitting on a toilet.

Humanism, no matter how it is defined, aims to strike a balance between us being at the mercy of nature and being too human-centered. In my case, I haven't relieved myself under a tree for a while. I am a proud, dutiful Chinese citizen. Gone are the days when people just found a corner to do their business resulting in poor sanitation and threats to public health. The Otohimetechnology renders me two warnings: First, I am a humble human being with an obligation to save not only my face but also natural resources. Second, there is still a long way to go in my own country not just in developing technology and the economy, but also in upholding human dignity and promoting human welfare. Take the toilet: Dirty, crowdedtoilets shall, at least, give way to clean, human-friendly ones.

Fortunately, I have seen improvements. At Shanghai World Expo 2010, 8,000 toilets, all modern and technologically sophisticated, were installed across the site. What really delighted the visitors, however, was the user-friendly design and services. Toilets were situated every 100 meters. Several hundred volunteers served as toilet guides and sanitation workers. The ratio of female to male toilet space was set at 2.5 to 1. Soft music was played in the toilets. All this seems to celebrate the glory of comprehensive humanism.

Ladies and gentlemen, science and technology are here to improve earthly life and maximize human happiness. When our world benefits from technology, coupled with human considerations, we are bound to enjoy our life. Conversely, we suffer.

The toilet is a piece of sanitaryware and the quintessence of humanism that underlies technological innovation. Like GNP, employment rates, and space exploration efforts, the lowly equipment is an equally important measure of a progressive society. When on a toilet if we feel like a princess, we shall be proud of living in a society that values humanity. If not, we must stand up and make some changes.

And if you are still baffled with what I have said, I suggest you take off right now and go experience the bathrooms in this auditorium, because they are what makes our life beautiful or ugly, humanism considered or ignored.

I like to look into the mirror. I remember when I was a little girl, I often stood on my toes, trying to find my face in the mirror of the dressing table, which was nearly as high as I was. Now I still like to look into the mirror. Only now, the dressing table is too low for me. As I bend down, I see the face of a young woman, glowing with maturity, confident in her future and fascinated with her own reflection.

The fact that I like to look into the mirror has to do with my granny with whom I spent most of my childhood. I remember clearly that one night I heard her murmuring, "Women can't be seen. Women can't be seen." I was so confused as to look into the mirror the next morning to check if I could indeed see myself. Only now as a young woman myself, can I understand that it was not physical visibility that granny had on her mind.

Granny spent all her life taking care of the family, day in and day out. She cooked for her husband and 10 children. But whenever guests came, she and other female family members had to eat by the stove in the small kitchen. At family discussions, she was never asked for her opinion. After grandpa passed away, she had to listen to my uncle, her eldest son, fulfilled her duty as daughter, wife, and mother; yet as a person, she remained little noticed. Even though she could see herself in the mirror of the dressing table, she was never visible in the mirror of society.

I have been living a different life. At home, I make decisions together with the rest of the family. In school, I often take charge of various activities the same as other boys and girls. Not only that, I can see something granny could not have dreamed of─making decisions for my own future. My life has been a series of decisions. I could choose from several universities as I came out of high school. At university, I could choose from a range of subjects from English literature to business law. And now upon graduation, I am again faced with decisions─to further my study or to go to work; to stay in China or to go abroad; to get married right away or to remain single for a bit longer.

It does not matter whether or not I will become famous or rich, but I will treasure the chance to demonstrate my potential and to help other women demonstrate theirs as full members of society, fully visible in the mirror of history. I will treasure it because the abundance of choice that I enjoy came only after decades of efforts made by my granny, my mum, and millions of other Chinese women.

However, the choices to be made by me and others of my generation are a great challenge. The misconception that men are superior to women is still dominating many people's minds. While men are encouraged to compete and to assert themselves, we are expected to be quiet, loyal and obedient. This is not very different from what is expected of us as good wives and good mothers. The challenge we face calls for a higher level of our personal development and self-determination.

The story of my grandmother and myself mirrors the lives of millions of other women in China and perhaps in the world. Many of them still lead the life of my grandmother. Their worth is not yet recognized. It is the responsibility of a young person like me to work hard and struggle hard so that they too will see themselves and will be seen in the mirror of society.

This is my dream. This dream, I believe, is not only shared by our grandmothers, mothers and sisters, but also by many of our fathers, brothers, husbands and male colleagues.

I have a friend who just started his career as a teacher in a primary school. Weeks ago, he asked me to raise a topic for his mid-term composition test. I was curious why he chose me to give a topic, because he is a teacher himself. He said that he wanted something the students can really show their different ideas. Without thinking, I told him to let his students write about what they would do if they were given one million US dollars. My friend left with satisfaction, and I fell into my old memories.

It reminded me of my old days in primary school. We were learning to do narration in the fifth grade's Chinese class. Our teacher required us to write a composition with the topic "My Most Unforgettable Day" with our real experience.

When papers came back, half of the students wrote about the first day they came to school. The rest of the compositions were all about picking money on the streets and giving it to policemen, or helping a blind man cross the street. Of course I was among them. But I remember very clearly, that one student, only one student gave something different. He wrote about the day that he first kissed a girl. I read his composition. After all these years, I can't recite every word, but I dare to say, that even Shakespeare, may not be able to write as equally good when he was 11 years old. The composition was written out of real experience and genuine emotions. Contrary to those fake stories, it sounds real and natural. But the kid was scored zero. Our teacher thought the content was unhealthy, I'm sure you know the meaning of this Chinglish word "unhealthy".

That was 15 years ago. When you read those compositions, and you feel that half of our population is blind, so all those kids could have a chance to help a blind man cross the street, and every one of us has a hole in our pocket, so all those kids could have a chance to pick up the lost money and give it to policemen.

A few days ago, my friend sent me an e-mail of all the copies of his students' compositions. I have to say, I was sadly disillusioned.

Among those papers 40% said that they wanted to donate the money to people in poverty, so their children can go to school. The rest compositions are much more alike. Some wanted to support the panda protection project, some wanted to buy books to enlarge their knowledge. One student even said that he would like to spend his one million dollars on the effort to cure AIDS. I was more astonished to find that a ten- year-old child knew what AIDS really is.

We all have been kids, and we knew what we had once wanted. But, there was no composition about spending the money on video games, nice clothes, chocolates, ice-creams and expensive toys. Like 15 years ago, students won't tell the truth of their hearts.

It has always been our dream to open our children's hearts. We encourage them to describe their dreams, and acted as if we are ready to accept their thoughts. But the fact is that, children are scared by the zero marked on their papers. They are trained to say what we want to hear.

People compare children to flowers of tomorrow. And parents dream about the scenery that roses, tulips, daffodils flourish in the future. But down the road we are going on, in the future, or the future of future, only one kind of flower can be found. And that's the flower we like most.

Smile

What is a smile? Some people say that the expression is the heart. I think that smile is a heart, is a strong It is a detached charm; smile is a grace, it has a warm and friendly, with acceptance and caring, with tolerance and open-minded with a relaxed and optimistic. Every day, I smile, I love the education of students. I grew up with all kinds of dreams. Today I want to share two of them. They both have to do with playing musical instruments.

When I was four, Mom bought me an electric piano. The black instrument standing in the middle of the house scared me. Day after day, I had to practice with my piano teacher. I hope all teachers will realize that learning cannot go on without passion. I still remember my first urheen performance with my teacher. look! there is a rainbow! on the first day of my university life, when i

walked into the campus, there was a rainbow bridging over the fountain, i hadn’t

seen rainbow for a long time. i was so excited, and leaped high with joy. my

ponytail danced with my happiness. it was a propitious sign indicated that my

life in university would be colorful, and actually it is!

after my entry into university, i found my life so busy. what i should do

is not only gaining the scholarship but also being a good monitor and leader of

shanghai university percussion band. i got the 1st and 2nd price of scholarship

in my 2 years of study. i organized charity donations for schoolmates with

financial difficulty or disease. every week, i give drum lesson to new members

of our percussion band. and there are always a lot of non-business performances,

such as entertaining guests, celebrating party, cultural exchange with foreign

students delegations and their bands. of course, part-time job is indispensable

in my vacations. i ask for no payment but aim at getting accustomed to the

society.

sometimes, my friends advise me not to tire myself out with such a tight

schedule. i wake up before the rooster crow, and continue working till very late

when others are enjoying their sweet dreams. every time i come back from the

rehearsal of percussion band, i have to finish my homework with the help of my

own charged light because of the blackout in out dormitory. maybe such kind of

life is something like an ascetic, but we should work hard and try hard in our

youth, aren’t we?

when i represented shanghai university to take part in the pond’s new

century lady competition held in may, when i show off on the stage, when i

emerged as “the girl of vitality”, i made use of every bit of time to compensate

the classes i had missed, i made use of every chance to learn from other girls

with vitality, versatility and intelligence, i made use of this opportunity to

present our university students’ state of mind.

there is a little bitterness in my busy life, but at the same time, there

is sweetness. it is colorful. i make fun out of it. i love it. when i snatch a

little leisure i lie on the green grass, reading books, i cripple myself in the

window-seat in our library---the 2nd largest in shanghai---i absorb knowledge

like a hungry sponge, i wonder along the bank of river, listening to oriels in

willows and get a splendid sunset view of the campus. the sky is drunk with the

sunset; i am drunk with the sweetness of my like.

I Regain Confidence

I received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. But one of the panel members told me: "You seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged." My life has never been the same since. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing.

As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party. Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. Given a choice, I would rather be ugly than live in such a world. I'd rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a Snow White than be a Snow White among nothing but Snow Whites. I would rather be myself. 我重树信心

大学生活的几年里，当我参加第一次面试时，我的自信心受到了沉重的打击。我向“学生剧团”申请出演一个主角，而且我十分自信地认为我会被录用。但是,其中有个剧团成员告诉我:“你似乎不太合适出演这个角色，因为你的身高有点问题。”我从未遇到过这种情况。我穿着高跟鞋来弥补我的身高，采用心理策略和技巧来掩盖自己信心的缺乏。但是，不论我怎样努力进入角色，感觉还是缺少些什么。
